The machine info has been of great help!

We have done some things that should improve the audio performance - especially in situations where there is lots of action. This should be reflected in the patch that will go out next Tuesday. We would appreciate if you could tell us if there are any changes in this audio glitch behaviour or not after applying the patch.

Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue.

Here are some observations :

It tends to start when there are more than 5 or 6 NPC on grid shooting at me or my alt (minimised lInks), usually when i'm zooming the camera right out on one of them. After it starts it continues until all NPC have left the grid. It's not just a sound distortion for me, soon as the sound goes wierd (and it happens on both clients after it starts on either) my whole game slows and seems to be having trouble keeping up.

Reducing both clients to minimum graphics dod not help the problem, or the slowing effect it has.

This is since rubicon, i was able to run both clients fine before.

Exactly this.

I'm wondering if it is possibly an issue with Eve client being upgraded to direct X 11.
Turning off all sound before battle works for now.

And everything was going so smoothly...

Same issue. Upon entering grid with several ships my sound begins to get poppy and cracky .. eventually bogging down my system to the point of 3-5 second lock ups.

Turning sound off relieves bog down and 'resets' the issue. Generally takes 5 seconds to start messing up again.

After this patch I haven't had the issue at all, which is great! Will keep an ear out for it but it seems fixed, great stuff!

The difference with before and after Rubicon has to do with performance. More sounds, more use of voices, added sound experience for turret effects - all this adds to the cpu usage.
We are planning a way to allow people to choose the level of quality for audio - allowing those with slower systems to still get a good audio experience without hickups and those with fast systems to get the ultimate deal.

Now, we have experienced some improvements after the patch but it seems the changes we made didn't do the trick for everyone. We will continue to work on finding ways such that everyone can be happy.
Those of you still experiencing these problems can you please try and go to Effects and disable "Turrets & Launchers" and report back if you're still having these issues. This would be greatly appreciated!
