Faction Warfare Question

I have a couple of questions i wanted to know about "Faction Warfare".

1. Can I join "Fraction Warfare" solo?

2. Can I attack the other enemy "Faction" anytime at anywhere without being attacked by concord and without my security level dropping?

I was figuring doing this to get a lot of "PVP" experience in. I don't want to join a corp. Can't be dedicated and give them the time they need so i don't want to waste their time.

Thanks

1. absolutely yes
2. absolutely yes

as per your comment, you can create your own corp and have your corp enlist into FW as well if you don't want to be in the npc corp. (no one likes/trusts people in the npc corp)

1. Yes, you can do that in two ways. You can join FDU, TLF, SPROT or the 24th (the npc fw corps) as an individual. Or, if you are a one man corp you can enlist your corp instead. In my opinion that's the better way. As an npc corp member you are almost without identity, and people will be a little more reluctant to work / roam / fleet with you, quicker to forget you, and faster to blame you.

2. Yes, the 2 enemy factions are effectively war targets and as such all hostilities against them are legal. Of course fw mainly takes place in low sec, but there have been a few notable characters who have made something of a career of finding enemies running missions in their high sec and killing them, and others that camp high sec gates or stations to farm the unsuspecting. Your war targets are war targets everywhere, the sector of space is irrelevant in that respect.

I have been in fw for a couple of years now and can wholeheartedly say the experience of playing as an unaffiliated solo player is only a fraction of the experience (even as a solo player) you get compared to collaborating with others. You don't necessarily need to be in a corp for that, but it does make it a whole load easier. At least keep it in mind, there are many corps that are happy to accommodate casuals.

Remember there is a wiki - some good information on there. Big smile

Mehashi, I do agree with what you are saying regarding teaming up with Friendly Faction members to run missions together. I would like doing that as well. At least I know i'm not stuck to a corp, but have the "freedom", if so choose, to work together with other members.

I'm most probably will create my own corp and head out solo.

Btw, any ship is fine to fly, correct?

Thanks for the help.

Any ship is fine. NPCs don't care what you use.

As for joining a corporation... there are more than a few FW corps that do not require much time investment and/or have "call to arms" operations. Just log in, greet everyone, see if a gang is roaming around, fly around, and then log off when it's convenient for you.

Not all organizations are "organized."

start cheap with frigates for a while.

later use destroyers.

later use t2 frig.

later use cruisers.

you really don't need BC all that much.

you hardly will ever use BS. this is ESPECIALLY the case if you are solo.

if you are solo you should never really be using BS.

Thanks, i'll be running with Frig and Destroyer. Most likely destroyer.

I'm going into this to get as much fun and fighting exp out of it. Its going to be fun blowing up ships and also getting my ships blown up...;)

Where are you planning to run?

Since you are Gallente, I assume GalCal, but whereabouts? There's a lot of good fights available, even for a solo player.

I'm not enlisted in FW (I enjoy the Corp I am in and they are not in FW), but roam through GalCal space daily and pretty much live in FW space (about 90% of my time spent there - other 10% going to buy replacement ships). Not being an awoxer, not being in FW has some advantages as it doubles the number of potential opponents (to everyone), but also has significant disadvantages (eg. sec status hits for aggression on everyone).

Anyway, hope you enjoy it because it really can be fun.
