But yeah neuts are the best counter, even ASB vargurs will drop quickish once you shut off the invulns. Normal shield boosting and armor repairing ones will get stomped. Another counter is alpha, but you need 20+ guys for that typically.

I think nos modules killed that Vargur. I would not be surprised if a few of these inty's had a nos fitted. They work like little neuts on that poor Vargur's cap pool. Factor in the max cap pool on those inty's and you see that the cap pool in the Vargur ends up well below the max cap recharge. Each shield cycle at that point from the Vargur just makes cap recharge worse and the Vargur is doomed.

So small nos + cap hungry fit + just enough dps pressure means that Vargur was not looking good to begin with.

AAR still require cap even with nanopaste. Only the ASB is capless with charges

How much neuting power is needed to take out a Marauder? Would a Legion with neuts or a pilgrim with 3 meds do the trick?

The first thing you notice about iserbkin and his vargur is tue 3 empty highs that could have been used for a heavy neut and two medium nos. I'm guessing he was short on cpu but that's what you get for overtanking a frickin marauder with dual xl asb instead of 2x large asb. Also boost amp instead of a second hardener is fail. Hell even a target spectrum breaker would have been better for him to equip

I remember when the marauders first came out on sisi, I immediately grabbed a T2 fitted kronos and bastioned in the center of CA 2. I perma tanked 3 vindicators and a golem for 20 minutes till they brought out an arty naglfar to blap me off the field.

Hehe reading this post makes me laugh every time......that was my golem you tried to gank. Since that day I've made many improvements to it and even got it to be immune to a handful of heavy neuts wo cap charges and still tank a ton. After testing it over and over again I have come to realize in a cyno jammed system it has 2 major but not very obvious weaknesses. This only holds true with a very unique fit and because of that you probably won't cross anyone who flies this fit. I'll let you figure out what they are but the golem is an amazing ship to fly. I can't speak for the other mauraders though but I've heard from many that the golem is the best of the 4 in regards to tank and being able to adapt. There is also a fit to make your mauraders 100% gank proof in high sec. Once again I've yet to see someone fly that fit and I probably never wil because of the meta people follow.

I'll say one thing though......officer stuff is not needed and just silly. It makes me laugh to see the many officer fit mauraders blown out of sky haha. Fly safe!!

i've also done testing and refined my strategy.

1 t2 neut armageddon > 1 golem, doesnt matter how pimped, even officer-mods. Killed a bunch on SiSi in testing.

i wont be betting isk on this, since you CAN fit a double-cap boosting all-passive golem to counter a gheddon specifically, but i will see you on the test se4rver sometime, and we will duel.
