Launcher not working and exefile.exe constantly patching

As the title says, the launcher obviously doesn't work at all and every time I try to use the exefile.exe workaround, it tries to update. I then have to run the repair. After that it's fine, but the process starts all over again the next day.

Does anyone have a permanent workaround or tips for this?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, entirely misread your post.

Have you tried any of the proposed fixes for it, or are you just plain (grr) against it?

Every time I use the launcher it updates too. Its what happens when the game gets patched.

Uh, yes but you're not going to like it. Either get your launcher fixed or stick with the exe launch, while learning to live with the for now almost daily (small) patches.

Else, stop playing. Sad

I assume that it actually starts over all again after each reboot (otherwise there's something very very strange going on with your box).

It sound very much like there's some strange permission issues that prohibits the game to save what ever update/repairs you've done.

Or that you have some system restore/protection service running that reinstates earlier versions of updated files for some reason.

The only way for anyone to debug this is with a full set of log files.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Wow a sorry, of all your posts, speechless.

@OP could you clarify with a few screenshots:

I don't have screenshots, unfortunately. Next time it happens, I will take some. I launch exefile.exe, the client opens, checks for updates and sees one. It won't let me do anything except start the update. It goes through the update, updates the launcher, but all the builds stay the same. When I launch exefile.exe again, it does the exact same thing no matter how many times it updates. After I run the repair it works fine, however. It's just incredibly annoying having to do that every day.

Sounds like it's probably Suck-it-upsville, population: me, though.

Thanks for your responses so far.
