Shader 3.0 Issue Intel HD 3000 Graphics

I am having the same problem as posted above, I have read how people with legitimate graphics cards have handled the issue but can't find anything for HD 3000 graphics. Is there a workaround or is it just not possible to run EVE through wine with this graphics chipset right now? Should I hold out hope for it ever being possible?

Your card need to support Shader Model 3

You need to have latest GIT MESA if possible and you need s3tc library (libtxc_dxtn).

If your card support SM3 and you have the previous requirement installed... And you have a correctly set up to date wine, EVE will work BUT:

With my Intel 4500, with all at minimum, it's like 15-20fps.. So you can't PVP/mission but you can skills and do mining..

My chipset should support shader model 3 because the same laptops runs EVE on Windows.

How would I check if I have the latest Mesa drivers installed, and how would I go about installing the s3tc library? I have wine version 1.3.31, which should be the latest.

Thanks for the help, it is good to know it is possible. The only thing I have seen regarding SM3 and Intel HD 3000 is from the link below, and it does not seem that solution is provided.

This seems to imply you don't actually need the s3tc library, but it doesn't work for me. However I am getting the same error, which I would have though would have been bypassed if I was successfully enabling SM3 support, even if I didn't have the actual library. Is this not true?

You can past the output of "glxinfo" so I can check if all the required opengl extensions are there.

You really need the S3TC libs.. Without them it will still work.. if you like white ship and black/gray everything else ;)

Yeah I know I will probably need to get the drivers in eventually and frankly I have already tried getting them in, I would like to get past this other error to make getting the drivers correctly installed easier to troubleshoot.

Your S3TC libs seam to register correctly, but you should update your drivers to the latest GIT version if possible.

If I remember correctly, the drivers you use are too old and don't have the SM3 bits enabled in yet.

I don't know your distribution but check if you can get a development version of libdrm and mesa. Else you may need to compile them manually.

I am running Mint 11.

Okay so this post

Now EVE gets past the SM3 check, but goes to a black screen before getting to the login screen while spitting out a stupid amount of these errors.

However, when I do glxinfo, I see this

You need Mesa 7.12-Devel.

I'm currently searching of a procedure exist for Mint 11. I know that Mint 12 come with 7.12 but still, someone may have made package for 11 somewhere. Else, you will have to compile them (libdrm and mesa) manually.

Check if you have an update for your video drivers (in the system update).

MESA got his version 7.11 released last week. If the Mint dev made the package for this version, it will fix your problems.
