It's impossible to be good if you don't have the option to be evil. Only by creating an environment that allows evil and quite frequently seems to reward it more than it does reward good (just like this world we live in), CCP allows players to play really good characters. Doing the right thing in a game that doesn't allow you to do anything else is meaningless. In EVE doing the right thing is a meaningful decision that comes at a cost.

People love to announce they're leaving Eve, and I'm happy to join the club. The skill training queue in this game is about the most foolish implantation I've seen in an MMO. Then I realized I had to spend a month training that and that's a month I can't dedicate to combat skills or anything else. That's right, I have to give CCP $20 and wait a whole month just to make my character capable of running away.

It's a very creative business model, honestly. You prey simply on the hope that things will get better and one day, two years later, for doing nothing at all but paying CCP $15-$20 a month, you too can be effective in PvP which most companies work to ensure is plausible for players in the first place.

Oh well, I don't really have anything constructive to say. I was playing X3 Albion and I realized I was having fun playing a game... And then I remembered that I used to think playing MMO's was also fun, until I started playing Eve, and then I was just playing because I wanted to make the jerks who make the game so frustrating to play pay. However, after careful consideration, I realized that, not only is it really not worth waiting around for a year for, it's also a huge waste of real life money that I could be spending on MMO's that don't suck by being unwilling to reward active playing of the game.

At least I can take solace in the fact that CCP called you all evil when they named the Eve Gate after, well, Eve. I tend to agree with them - I've never played a game that really brought out the worst in people in a video gaming environment.

Im sorry its your math that actually sucks. I was blowing up 2 year old chars with 1.5 mill sp and if you dont beleive me check my KB and yes they were solo without rem reps.

The skill queue can be a pain and in the olden days you could start a char with sp for combact, science and pvp.

However having a moan cos thats what you are doing is like a 13 year old having all his playboy mags taken away.

You joined a **** alliance which are constantly being whacked by war targets and null pvpers who have actually taken the time

to look at fits, read and learn. Your stuff has been given to a char who has prob been sucking up to you since day one.

If your going to leave log off dont come back. On the other hand you can start a fresh, look at the game and actually read and learn again.

Quoting "you will die" in EvE is fail Chars dont die in EvE. Unless you have a heart attack eek.

Dear Op, if you made 'several billions' in five months of playing, you are doing something right.

Also, (as I am not sure and cannot be bothered to check) it does not take a year to train all the relevant skills for a Frigate or Cruiser to level V.

Anyway, I never want players to leave the game (apart from Erotica 1) so hang on in there, Eve is worth the pain.

and are you one of the people btw that flys though high sec in a tech 1 hauler filled with 2 bil worth of stuff as that might be one of the issues you are having with getting ganked
