So I recently tried high sec ganking. I fit up a nado with 1400's (meta 3 cant use t2) 3 t2 tracking comps 2 ts sebos and 4 t2 gyros for an alpha of like 9700 , and I have solid support skill. I shot at a mammoth who maybe had 3100 ehp (saw the fit and I put him to 1/3 armor) my alpha did 2200 as it grazed. So brings me to my question I think my range is all off I warped in a zero think the computer would be enough to track well it was not, should I just be warping to like 40 so depending where victim decloak im 28k- 52k away for better tracking?

Yes give yourself a little more room for tracking and honestly if you are ganking low EHP ships get a couple buddies and use thrashers

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

Your tracking computers were scripted for tracking?

Try one of the bigger regional gates where stuff comes through at a better range for 1400's, or use something with smaller guns.

Unless the mammoth is stabbed, nado vs mammoth is total overkill

Problem is, no one can tell me with any certainty whether the TP bonus will be applied in time for the 1400 volley if the target is locked with all modules hot. Best answer I could get was "50/50... maybe... lock with the TP hot, and shoot a second later just to be sure."

Don't do this if CONCORD are on grid, however, otherwise you might just be ECMed in time to sit helplessly while the Mammoth slowboats into the sunset.

Large arty can't track the broad side of a building at 0, even with tracking computers.

This is why you always see port authority fit nados at range on the far side of the station. You want to be 40km away or so (iirc) to minimize your traversal.
