Finally got a chance to EFT this new toy.

Hell yes, who needs insurance when you've got Tornado-power?

With a 5% fitting implant and Level V skills, you can cram on:

8x 1400MM Arty IIs
4x Gyros II

Five midslots to taste:

TP and TCs: Enhancing tracking and shot quality
SEBOS: increasing an already fast native lock time (between 2-3.5 seconds for most gank targets)
Warp Disruptor: Wait right there, while I reload and volley you again...in 13 seconds!
Passive Scanner: So they don't have time to turn on their defenses before they instapop.

Add a couple Large Projectile hardwires for damage, and perhaps use Slot 7 for extra tracking as well....
and you get:

13.1K Alpha with RF PP (at 30km).
13.2K with Quake (at 15km),
13.6K if you crack for (and can find) Domination Fusion Ammo.

Happy times indeed! Lol

Make sure Concord is somewhere 'in system but off grid', and you are guaranteed TWO shots in 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7 systems, fpr twice the return on your Tornado dollar.

The annoying thing about Alpha 'Pests? You have to manually FLY them everywhere.

But Orcas and Tornados go together like my belt buckle and your forehead.

You can move 6 of these things in an Orca, another one in the Maintenence Bay, fully fit and ready to rock. Maybe 2 more, if you can stuff a couple of them into the corp hangar.

Orcas can dispense these things in open space, to greatly facilitate use by our -10 outlaw brethren who desire a large, solo Hulk crushing volley.

T2 Hull and Fitting Cost, likely around 70-80M, with half of the mods recoverable after the gank.

Was CCP just trolling the suicide-whiners by giving them the insurance nerf, while simultaneously releasing this little beast?

1x Tornado can kill two Hulks or Mackinaws with a single hull in 0.5-0.7 space. (**just bait Concord correctly so they respond in MORE than 13 seconds). Tear return? 50M spent to blast 440M worth of Hulks into dust.

2x Tornados kill most active Tengus for 100M. And you know how blingy they can be. Costing the victim SP is a bonus.
5x Tornados kill just about any active tanked Marauder for 250M. Deadspace XL Shield Boosters anyone?
15x Tornados? Now we are talking dead freighters, for a mere 750M investment up front.

Thats some serious TEAR potential.

I plan to have several Tornado BPOs in heavy rotation. I will keep my local trade hub swimming in these things, simply as a public service. Soon, we enter a new age of dead Tengus and broken Hulks. Twisted

you cant balance it. Because then you get caught into an circle of buffing hp and dmg and then again hp.

…or maybe this balances out the buffs the prey have continuously been receiving over the last couple of years.

Anyway… six of them? I don't have a sisi client in front of me, but they're BC hulls, so that's 15k m³ unpacked, which means two in the hold and two in the corp hangar. Unless you're fitting cargo expanders on the Orca, in which case I think gankers have just found a neat new target… Twisted

Seriously, though. Never ever cargo-expand an Orca. It's bad in every way imaginable.

buffs for prey ??

Really ?

so hulks got now 200k hp with 90+ percent resists to all damage types..

16 high slots and 12 mid slots with enough PG to fit 8x large gun turrets and enough ew/tank ???
Or did i missed something ?

Yes. Numerous CONCORD buffs, increased sec status penalties, a whole lot of changes to wardec policies, and lots of fiddling around with insurance. With the next patch, you also get dock-at-range which further reduces the need to be AFK for travel.

Well minor tweak which dont really counter excessive volleys/dps of gank ships, does it ?

Anyway its not necessary either way, number of "highsecganker-bears" is quite limited. Some ships get destroyed here and there and prey cannot do anything against it.

**** happens.

As some says it is not fair. And as usual answer deal with it. You dont get what you deserve you get what you get.
Same goes for highsecgank-bears who tried to cry-out their "hearts" off with same logic about fairness. Quite ironic.

well true that, since Tornado is not really an high sec PvE ship of choice. SO you see it is near 99,9 percent an gank setup.

It has the same falloff bonus as a Machariel. Fit 1400s, sensor boosters, gyros and TEs and hit stuff with falloff at 200km with short-range ammo, hell yeah

If these numbers are accurate, then CCP will be nerfing the boat.
I imagine there are large corps/alliances (read as Goons), that would use these boats as game-changing economic modifiers.
When I say game changing, I mean creating a new economic paradigm all-together.
In a matter of weeks, they could alter the vast majority of commerce in the game, simply by establishing suicide gank squads around Jita's entrance/exit gates, and destroying every Orca/freighter that moves through.

Imagine a situation where only Goon-friendly freighters come and go from Jita.
CCP will not allow that situation to occur, since it will devastate the game, and who knows how many subscriptions they would lose.

The Blue Ice embargo may have been a dry run for something far more destructive.

They can do it non-then less. I think they got enough "revenue" to do that with Tempests. If they chose to.
