Now that the Nestor's stats have been unveiled (including the mass, which is still more than a C1 allows) am I the only one who feels like this new SoE battleship will be utterly useless?

Even outside of wormholes, there are no roles that this ship can fit into that can't be done by another ship that will (most likely) be much cheaper. If it had a bonus to remote rep range, I can potentially see it being used as logi, but if CCP decides not to give it range, it's going to be pretty much useless.

Cloakable, squishy Dominix?

Might be an interesting gimmick ship, imo, but at 2-2.2b estimated there are a lot of setups which will perform the expected task(s) of this ship far more efficiently.

Looking forward to v.2 ship stats.

ive ran Sentry domis and Rattlers and never lost a sentry they hate RR more than drones

- Hacking/Scanning bonus on a ship with no covert cloak, LOL.

Sleepers do not volley drones if your are RRing. It basically just a overpriced domi at X10 the cost with better RR and less mass ....

Edit: Sleepers will not attack the drones if you are RRing most of the time anyways

there is in fact a class limit as well as a mass limit for c1 wh's so that even if you got a bs to meet the mass limit it still wouldnt be able to use the wh. it's a very little known fact but it is true...or at least many years ago the class limit was there, maybe ccp removed it at some point and now just have the mass limit but at least at one point in time there was a class limit as well.

I think the simple fact is that for 2b isk you can get any other ship to outdo the Nestor. A blinged out domi will easily outdo the Nestor and still probably be cheaper than a Nestor hull.

Its bonuses dont really make sense to me, the scan/hacking bonuses are totally worthless. I would have rather seen more combat oriented roles. The stratios/Astero are the SOE's covert exploration, when they need some real tank.firepower they bring in a Nestor. Instead they just have the Nestor as a bigger, worse scouting ship.

I cant see anyone scouting around running data sites with a 2B BS. Especially in WH space, so the low mass is pointless as well.
