My Mobile Tractor Units are playing ping pong with empty wrecks

In 2013 computers communicate with each other. In Eve Online when technology should be vastly superior they do not.

What is the reasoning for requiring 5000m apart between mobile tractor units if all this does is cause the tractor units to play ping pong with empty wrecks? I watched this happen with one damn wreck when I had about 30 wrecks far away that needed to be tractored. Its up there with one of the dumbest things i've seen in Eve. It would have been funny to see if it wasn't me. This really should be fixed.

to stop you from deploying more then one tractor unit. Too easy otherwise.

maybe in like 3 years. That's how long it took for our onboard scanners to remember scans from 30s prior. And even now they still forget stuff if you leave system briefly.

Noctis will never be useless for those that actually think about it. 1x Mobile tractor operating at 1000m/s (100m3 storage required per unit); 4x (conservatively) Tractor IIs on Noctis operating at 2000+ m/s (0m3 storage required per tractor)...

Yeah, math is hard.

You know what's REALLY funny?

Watching two or more that are about 10km away from each other fight over a capital wreck.

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/

I just have my MTU and put 8 salvagers on my Noctis. By the time I switch my ships, most of the wrecks are already there.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

the other day i go mining. warp to belt. see mtu there. so i deployed my own mtu. there i am, watching wrecks going back and forth. a bit more entertainment for the miners.

Not unless the mission runners abandon their wrecks. They don't tractor yellow wrecks (or if they do it's a bug)

Nope, it's to reduce amount of effort required to implement MTUs in the game.
