Looks like it's not an official location as per their locations page: http://www.ccpgames.com/en/jobs/locations

However, as you said, there is a jobs entry for it, albeit with no jobs offered. My guess is that it's a small satellite office used for non-development purposes. This article backs that up:

Reid will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and report to Pétursson. Reid will run marketing activities such as branding, corporate communications, PR, advertising, social media and customer acquisition.

Of course, that's just the official thing I'm supposed to say. I'm a rebel so I will just tell you: it's their top secret tinfoil hat and nerf bat factory. Special CCP brand. The whole "marketing office" is just a cover-up.

Probably cheaper to crash on the couch at the "office" in San Fran than pay for a hotel.

I found the sites link interesting. Reykjavik's night life is fun, but I don't know if I would use the word extreme. The temperature really is as mild as they say. I lived there a couple years. Chicago is still the coldest place I have ever been. You need to open one in Scotland, so I can apply for a job while I work on my PhD; Edinburgh would be good.

It's where they're working on the rollout of CCP's new motto:

It's Nerf or Nothing!

CCP having an office in the U.S. is why us Americans have to pay tax on our PI and market trades. If they didn't have an office here, we'd get that stuff tax free.

No kidding. I am currently paying $2650 (w/o utilities) a month for a two room flat in what is considered the affordable Sunset district. Prices have really sky rocketed in recent years. I think I was paying about half that here in the 90s.
