Which Ship is better for L4?

I'm still thinking which BS should I train for PvE lv4. There are 3 in my mind.

- 425mm/Blaster Rail Rokh
- 425mm/Blaster Vindi
- 1400mm/Blaster Navy Tempest

Any hits and/or suggestions?

I'm interested only in those 3 above so plz dont write about mach, RNI etc. :)

In which aspect Kronos is better then a Vindi (besides ammo cost)?

In case of DPS Vindi > Kronos

In everyway pretty much now. Bastion gives you added falloff and optimal. Instead of 8 guns you have 4 with 100% to damage. Resist are better, in bastion rep is twice as good, can MJD 2 or 3 times more often. Can fit 4 Mag stabs + a couple range modules in meds or even lows if needed.

The Marauders are back as king of PvE. Deal with it, either train up to use them or deal with falling behind. Only 2 ships that still compete with Marauders are the Mach (getting nerfed) and the Rattlesnake, and the RS takes a lot more skills then getting a Marauder.

So would it be better to get to Rail Vindi then to Blaster Kronos

or

Artilary Tempest and then change to Auto Vargur ?


I dont know why but i couldn't fly a mach ;p

Kronos and Vargur are closer in performance than most people think, but I'd still tip it to the Vargur for damage type selection.

I'd forget about the Tempest if I were you. That sad, unloved ship doesn't finish first place for anything, and an AC Maelstrom will be good practice for the Vargur.

The route I went for my Level 4 alt was was

1) 1400mm Maelstrom until my large AC skills were good for rangem damage and tracking. Then
2) 800mm Maelstrom until I trained Minmatar BS V. Then
3) 800mm Tempest Fleet Issue . With Minmatar BS V it does very slightly less damage than the maelstrom, but has a smaller sig radius so it takes less damage, and is so much faster that your mission completion time and thus profitability improves.

Then trained for 800mm Vargur. I don't use a salvage alt so needed Marauder to milk the salvage out of mission.

I've only flown the vargur a little since Rubicon, but now what I do it head into the middle of the mission room, activate bastion mode, drop a mobile tractor beam, aggro half or all of the room, and kill them while the tractor beam collects and salvage drones salvage. Profit. Once you kill the room faster than your beam collects, you can move around to tractor in any of the jucier wrecks that are further away yourself.
