Hi,

there is a point i hate realy at Escalations. You do a Complex in a Region and at the End you became an Escalation, but it was 15 Jumps away in an other 0.0 Region. Why that? It lands in systems that are out of your Territory (blue Standing) and you cancel it. Is there a choice that Escalations be in the Same Region were the Complex are?

in high and low sec the escalations are a good way of getting you out of your comfort zone. Particularly having to go to low sec from high lets you see it's not quite as scary as a lot of empire dwellers make out. I've lost a few ships learning but I'm pretty comfortable visiting low these days

However I guess in null that's not an easy option because it's going into someone else's territory? is that worse than going into low from high? In low you have to deal with roaming gangs and pick your time but I'm guessing the intel is better in null and you can't do that?

anyway - you have to live with it. No option to make it easier.

Yes it goes mostly in enemy territory. And if u have the destination system (with Station) (red standing to this alliance) its like a way to death with a 100% garanty. if u go alone u die in a gate camp, if u go with small group there ansfer with a roaming fleet. So the choice to do this escalation is 0%. for what is that good ?

This, the Escalations are built that way specifically to get you out of your area and push you a little bit. They are not supposed to be easy or convenient.

It is part of CCP's main failure that is trying to force its players and customers to play the way they wish to force you to play in order to cater to a minority in the game who seem to need their ego stroked since life must be difficult for them. The lost of subscriptions and other problems over the last year or two has shown that CCP not listening and just doing whatever they wish screws things up including but not limited to "Forcing you out of your area into another area".

Not about risk it is about forcing you down a road you may or may not want to go. Like L5's CCP just doesn't get it.

Escalations are dependent on the actual physical geography of space you are in. You can test this for yourself.

If you get an escalation in a null sec region where the systems are far apart
(or your like way out on the edge of a regions space), you end up going far away. Not so much in a place where there are systems closer (in terms of real distance, not "gate to gate" distance).

For example, when I lived in the middle of detorid and got angel 10/10s, i could end up in south detorid (in region), or insmother. Because of the shape of the region, it was always at least 8 or 9 jumps (thank god for jump bridges lol, we keep getting escalations in the same place so much my alliance put a Jump bridge into both of them)

When i lived up north I ratted in an upgraded system 1 jump from another region. When I'd get guristas 10/10s, it ALWAYS sent me 5 jumps away (because of the "shape" of the map), either into the region I was in, or into the neighboring region 5 jumps from "home". When I lived in Querious, 10 jump escalations were the norm.

If you are in null sec and getting escalations 15 jumps away, you are simply in a bad spot. Go to Dotlan maps and you will probably see a big "gulf" of empty space with no systems in it between where you rat and where the escalation sends you.

Again, escalation distance depends on the actual physical distance between the event that gave it to you, and the nearest "candidate system" where the expedition can appear. It does NOT depend on the number of gates.

Edit: the above is for DED plex. multiple escalation non-ded sites like Fleet Staging Points can send you far off, but in the space Im in now (again, because of the shape of the map), sometimes they boomerang, many times the final part of fleet staging point will end up in the system I got the initial expedition in, which is very nice :) .
