tempted to write down the names of those asking for free skill points and compensate them with a free bounty instead P

Due to power issues that caused the server to experience problems, we require an emergency restart of the server to set things right. TQ went down at 14:50 UTC and came back up at 15:31.

However, it is again experiencing significant issues so another emergency reboot of TQ is necessary. We expect the downtime to last 30 minutes.

We will update this thread as we have more information.

UPDATE 16:30 UTC: After investigating, our operations team has determined that the cause of the issue is hardware related. We must extend the emergency downtime by one and a half hour, to 18:00 UTC due to this.

Please do not compensate us. The fact that you care enough to fix something is compensation enough. Plenty of MMO, browser game, and FB app developers just let their games stay glitchy and unplayable, and zero damns are given whilst players jump ship in droves.
CCP doesn't do that. CCP attacks the problem and keeps us informed. That is all the compensation we need. The Gimmie-Gimmies aren't important.... they will eventually ragequit, anyway. The sooner the better. Replace them with awesome noobs that don't mind PvP.

Wow, a dev team that not only posts relevant updates as they happen, but even tells us what the problems are and how long it will take to fix them? Downtimes only lasting as long as they say they will?

Gonna add another 3 months onto my game time. I wish more dev companies got it right like CCP does. Thanks for the hard work, guys!

Dear CCP

I recently mailed you a copy of my work and leisure schedule and requested you ensure that you arrange Downtime to coincide with the periods titled working , sleeping , eating or shagging.

Whilst this downtime did coincide with the start of a time tabled "shagging" period, I must protest that I finished considerably before this DT did.

Got to be realistic here - Expecting them to sort out it in 3 minutes ...? Big smile

I had to talk to her afterwards , she was like "what you doing back here"

CCP, please follow these steps in order.

1. Ensure to unit is plugged into a working power supply.
2. Press the power button to cycle on the server power supply.
3. If the indicator lights on the face of the server display unit are lit and you still have issues, ensure the monitor is powered on using the same troubleshooting steps for the server tower.
4. Please ensure you are using the correct password and username.
5. Call my direct customer service number, I will help you through the issue step by step for a low member rate of 3.75 plexes per hour. (Minimum 2 hours) until we resolve this issue.

20 pages? Wow...

EDIT: even after the launcher update it still shows more than 30k online.... strange, especially when eve offline confirms the server's slumber...
