Oh man, I left this thread a while and come back to non-ironic Sun Tzu quotes from highsec PVP.

Thread keeps on giving.

"Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual,

Like others have said, it was interesting. We didn't have the numbers to engage the Noir/DARK/Marmite gang when they came around to reinforce the POCOs. They didn't have the numbers to challenge us when we came around the next day to repair them. A lot of RvB guys got killed on the Jita 4-4 undock and that's unfortunate, but fair play to Marmite and friends. A kill is a kill.

If their contracts were to reinforce the POCOs and kill RvB members in the process, job well done. That's all that matters really. We on the other hand achieved our goals when we repped those POCOs back up the next day, which I'm sure was equally interesting and fun as shooting them 24h earlier. :P

If anything, the POCOs have the potential to bring some more action our way, which is always welcomed. I for one enjoy the occasions on which I get to fleet with my Blue brothers.

Yes we had fun with the POCO games that were played. It was hard trying to navigate around with the sheer numbers that you guys were able to put out on those RF timers. Well played is all I can say. I look forward to future pew wherever it may be :)

I realize that Noir were just following their merc contracts, but what was that client thinking? Even if you guys got the POCO for him/her and transferred it to the respective corp... How was he/she going to defend it when you left?

I think that, to be fair to the client, when this first broke out there was a lot so -called advice saying "if you don't like it hire mercenaries" on the forums. This was not well thought out. The only way someone can hold a poco in a valuable place for long is to have in-house military capacity. Constantly hiring mercenaries to defend them makes no economic sense.

So some of the complaints had validity, it is a move that favors large nullsec entities... Except that there are a few high sec groups that can fight. But small industrial corps, they never had a chance.

I for one would like to thank marmite for weeding out the most eggregious stupid from RvB's ranks. The pimped out missioning Paladin and the multitide of pods in jita were especially cringe worthy (recently). I'd like to think that a few more weeks of this will make people learn better but experience has told me that's highly unlikely. We attract good people but also some incredibly terrible ones. That's what happens when your entire recruiting process consists of hitting the "accept" button on every single app that gets sent in Lol

I got the feeling reading your post that you need a small reminder of what the purpose of RVB is and its very gentle mission statement.

RVB created for "Everyone" with an open door policy.

If all of a sudden you can't cope with the parameters set out for RVB, perhaps its time for you to move on finally.

People who join RVB are usually noobs, sometimes vets on an alt that just want complication free pvp, sometimes calculated pilots looking to improve their kb stats so they can sell the char, and everyone else in between.

The very second you start becoming some elitist moron who feels that RVB has a recruitment issue, you have pretty much acknowledged you have been in there too long and lost your way.

RVB was never created to become some killboard stat whoring elitist high sec pvp mercs, nor should it ever become that!

It is there for people to learn and improve their pvp, be involved in organised pvp, and disorganised pvp....

To experience combat at will and to enjoy a permanent set of targets they don't have to pay for.

It was never created so that self righteous, self important gits can have a cry over someone elses mistakes or learning curve...

If you want that, you should go join the other high sec mercs berating each other for being "crap at this game".....

Oh lol. You're precious aren't you? You spent a few weeks in RvB as I recall we called you the crazy kiwi lady. You're about the last person who should give lessons to anyone about anything, never mind tell an RvB director going on 3 and a half years in the organization what we stand for :D

I would never change our recruitment policy, it's what yields us the best players in the game (IMO) it also gets us some of the dumbest but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm not one for trolling, so this is just a cautionary tale. The last time RVB went on a road trip we dismantled Eve Uni wholesale, that trip was in the spirit of gud fites but the recriminations and resignations that followed their defeat meant Uni was never really the same again. Should someone in RVB decide you are a genuine point of interest rather than a temporary annoyance, you might find you've got a little more heat than you can handle. I'm guessing you don't make enough to pay for those T3's by popping frigs on the 4-4 undock, so you must have some industry somewhere, some POS, some PI, some freighters. It can be found and we have the numbers, timezone coverage and ability to go where we need to go and take care of business.

Lets see how this one pans out eh?
Oohhhh pleasseeee try. I will seriously even pay for you to do so.... lol. Lol The isks we make are from the 100-150 regular clients and many other clients we have. Good luck. A few pocos in Abu won't make us rich. Funny how RvB keeps bragging when they keep running with fleets full of battleships/bc/etc etc (50+ and more backup in surrounding system). So stop talking you are just making things worse.....

This one's cute, can we keep him? Of course, we'll have to keep him seperated from our goon pets and he probably isn't house broken. But he's so damn cute. PLEEEEEASE OH PLEEEASE OH PLEASE?
