Well that didn't work either

If you try to post repeatedly, you get a window showing that you can't post within the next 5 or so seconds. Although if your connection was lagging or whatever I can see a situation where if you keep spamming the post button you can flood the forums.

A lot of forums have removed or shortened their limits on posts, it's not unusual or bad design. I'd hope the EVE Community is at least mature enough not to abuse that privilege by spamming.
