Fair enough.

What I also just noticed is that if I use the launcher to start the clients it works fine, but if I use the eveexe.exe from the bin folder, it still messes up the alt tabbing. I have another look shortly at it.

Launching the executable directly defaults to DX11 - it relies on the launcher passing in command line flags. If you need to bypass the launcher and want to run in DX9, add /triPlatform=dx9 /noconsole to the command line.

Cool, thanks a lot for the info. Cool This works a lot better.

I usually use the exe because the launcher screen in eve is more appealing for me, I just wish there was some more action going like in the Incursion or Retribution login screen. That's actually one of the two major things that keep me from using the launcher for anything else than updating the client.

This issue is still present. Alt tabbing worked like a charm before Rubicon: you pressed alt tab and had the menu with all your open programs and windows visible to choose from. Now, after Rubicon, the menu with your open programs is gone as soon as you leave the game and you have to press Alt tab repeatedly again to bring it back up and choose.

This must be changed. And changed only in the only way: Back to the pre-Rubicon state. Whatever you did to the game in that regard, it's useless and it doesn't make the game any easier or better playable.

It's already a good thing that the performance was increased recently, but this issue is way worse.

I'm sorry, we're not able to repro this behavior on our machines.

This is happening to me as well. My machine is more than fast enough to run two clients as well as Aero, and had no problems before Rubicon. Now, Windows is shutting down Aero and alt-tabbing is completely messed up.

I am also getting a glitch where ~sometimes (maybe 25%) when i Alt-tab, the Eve client just goes black, after flickering briefly. When I alt-tab back to the other client it's fine (usually). I can keep alt-tabbing back and forth until one of the screens stays, but this is extremely annoying.

ive also had this issue. reverting to DX9 fixes the sluggish behaviour. & im running in SLi plus an overclocked CPU chip.

disabling Aero in DX11 made no difference. tbh, i dont see what benefits DX11 has on the game, i can't see anything noticable, thats for sure.

So I'm not alone with this problem under DX11. Good to know. I'll stick to DX9 as a solution for as long as DX11 causes more problems than benefits and does not add anything (obviously benefiting) to the game.

I did see this happen on a laptop machine - at least we have a chance of fixing it, now that we've seen a repro case.

I see this happen if I have lots of programs open - if I only have a few programs open, the menu behaves as expected. I'll do a bit more testing, but I'm afraid this is more an issue with Windows and/or DirectX than anything in EVE.

And yet, everything behaved fine until the last Eve patch, and all of my other programs behave perfectly. It is only the Eve client that causes these problems.

Also when you run under DX9? Does the alt-tab menu behave correctly in other programs that run fullscreen in DX11?

^^ this so many times this.

Almost lost my Revelation the other day due to this. Due to the blackscreen and constant error messages I cannot dual box in pvp anymore. trying the fixed window thing to see if that helps.

I've found fixed window help a lot with sluggish alt-tabbing.

I'm having the same problem here. Where I used to be able to alt-tab between 4 clients seamlessly pre-Rubicon, now simply have 2 open slows everything down and adding a 3rd causes so much lag that everything freezes for a second every few seconds and even typing/mouse tracking lags. I'm running an I-7 940 with 2 ea 460GTX's in SLi (up-to-date drivers) and 16Gb of RAM, launching via the .exe (launcher is annoying)

Edit: Reverting to DX9 via the launcher settings appears to have fixed the issue.

sorry my bad english

Pre Rubicon:

EVE client running full screen.
You can ALT-TAB to second client window ONLY. If you need switch to another windows program -
goto desktop first (ctrl+esc / win+d). It's right, it's comfortable.
Standart task swithing tweaked by eve client (maybe by accident Big smile)

After Rubicon:
We have absolutly standart windows task switching. It's more then inconveniently, when >1 client running.
