Dear EVE community,
Harsh times apeared to settle in Ukraine last days.The unsigned EU integration agreement by our government and president Victor Yanucovich these days in Vilnuis made thousand of ukrainians step out and join the "Eurorevolution" , demonstrators are 100% peceaful , supporting the Ukrainian euro integration.
This night police security forces, well known to work with a current bandit government circled the demonstrants and got them beaten down with the reason to install a Cristmas Tree on the place they gathered.
I'm asking every to sign a White House petition here to help ukrainians to overthrow the current government.

What good is a white house petition to get a nation 1/4 of the way around the world to sign up to an EU trade agreement?

If u dig bit deeper into the geopolitics and international relations you would understand that Ukraine holds a huge threat for Russia if being accepted into NATO/EU or any other non post-soviet aliiance.Its like having a bomb ticking next door for Russia, thats why Putin pushses our government hard not to get into EU and cancel our NATO agreements. Basicly Putin is just trying to form his neo post soviet union empire.

Please define what a "legit european country" is. Without xenophobic and ethnic misconceptions, if possible.
Note that since I'm well versed on Rus history, you can skip that part out of your answer, as it doesn't relate to my question.

Well just the fact a daughter of Jaroslav the Wise was the French empress in 1051 -1075 talks for itself... The political role and impact of Kievan Rus on europe that days was huge .Thou that was far before the Mongol-Tatar igo (now Russia) stepped in with its barbarian occupation. Im not a xenofob thou and i got nothing versus russian nation as it is , i just dont support russian government preasure on post soviet union countries , not just Ukraine.
Also my topic is not to describe or discuss UA-RU relations , I was asked how USA can profit of that , so I've answered.Our main problem is OUR government at the moment being influenced by russian one alot , so the main aim is to overthrow it , other issue would dissapear by itself.

I would tell EU was created to somehow balance the USA influence.But USA impact on Europe is huge at the moment .

Though it's a purely rethorical question, because there's no such thing as a "legit" country. There's only people living together and sharing a common culture, who ended living within fixed boundaries as a result of their history -- mainly made not by the people itself by the way, but by its rulers over the last thousands years.
The very idea of a "legit country" is purely political.

Europe mainly defines itself by its numerous cultures and histories, and these are tied to their neighbours's. There is culturally less in common between Ukrainians and British/Spanish/Italian people than between Ukrainians and Russians.
Ukraine' history and culture are rooted within Polish, Russian, Scandinavian, Mongol, Lithuanian histories aswell, the same way England is sharing cultural traits and features with German, French and Welsh people, for example.
So rejecting Russian culture because it doesn't appeal to you or doesn't suit your plans is a bit simplistic and ahistorical.

Also, Europe is just a name for a geographic area, and the EU is a political and economical project, its fundations doesn't lies on nationalistic or ethnic conceptions, but on a common goal of prosperity, peace and -for some people- political unification.
Cultural proximity does help to make it work, but is not a requirement by itself.

Fight for what you believe to be right, but get your facts straight.
