Having a really bad EVE day.

Launcher will not update, gets stuck on 2/4 Initializing.

Repair will not work, get stuck on 1/7 Initializing.

And cannot send in a support ticket as when click submit it says 'An unexpected error occurred while submitting your support ticket. Please try again later.

Any tips?

Having the same issues. Tried rebooting PC and Router. Turned AV and Firewall off, no joy.

Edit: started EVE using exefile.exe instead of the launcher.

Ok so for today at least I seem to have fixed it myself.

I looked in a log file and noticed it tried to get the following file

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/661006/EVE_Online_658085-661006_win.zip

So I downloaded that file and unzipped it into my main eve folder, which for me is C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE

I then started my launcher and it has let me login as normal.

Have no idea what will happen when there is another patch though!!

Having similar issue.

Game wouldn't patch to 661006. Repair tool stuck on 1/7. Tried uninstalling and now Install for 661006 says it can't find the payload. Trying to manually download payloads for 661006 and no joy. JDownloader isn't working either to pull them from the URLs.

Happy Thanksgiving! with no Eve for 6 hours and counting.

Yup, get up this morning, I'm guessing there must have been an emergency patch or something??

Launcher won't update, repair won't repair and I can't access the URL directly to get the update package.

I heard there was a way to use EVE without the Launcher, so if CCP don't want to help I guess I'm gonna be joining that club if I can find the details and if that actually works for me.

I'm running again.

I tried to install the launcher again, this did NOT work for but maybe others it will help.
http://content.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_655130.exe
was posted in another thread:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3894280#post3894280

I managed to download a file that a log was looking for. I put it in my main EVE folder as unsure where it should go but it did not seem to work as launcher still reported not being able to access that URL:
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/661006/RepairData_661006.dat

So I decided to see what would happen if I just run an exe somewhere so I tried the exefile.exe in
C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin, and to my surprise EVE launched (in the old login style) and I'm in-game (for now!)

Can you tell me what ISPs you are using and potentially provide a traceroute to content.eveonline.com / cdn1.eveonline.com ?

Thanks, the trace looks good, so I don't think these are issues with connecting to our CDN.
Can you provide me with a launcher log file? These can be found in the [eve path]\launcher\cache folder. Just put it into http://pastebin.com.
And sorry for the inconvenience!

The launcher receives a timeout when it tries to access these resources. Are you behind a proxy, or is there a firewall that might be blocking the launcher from accessing the internet?

I do have Zonealarm Security running (which I have used for many years without issue to EVE). I did try it with the Firewall and Antivirus snoozed and there was no difference.

Hm, you are also running into a timeout problem here. There was a change to the network library we are using (more precisely, we updated to a more recent version that ironed out a few other bugs we were haunted by before), so applying occam's razor yields this as a source. We are currently investigating what we can do about it apart from reverting to the older version of said library.

Ha! solved for some reason my Kaspersky Anti-virus was blocking it.. go figure???

Never had it block any game updates before. Yet friends using it also didn't have any problems?

Cheers

Well, the thing with anti-virus software and similar tools is that they constantly receive updates on what they should look out for. Sometimes those updates cause false positives. Sometimes a new update for some other software makes that program fall into one of these patterns.

It ain't easy. (-:
