Hey there.

With the recent made changes to the models of the Command Ships, I came to ask myself if it made sense to something similar with Assault Ship models and only the models.

This would be:

-Hawk would get the Kestrel model. In my personal view it fits more to the overall "Ima gonna poof u with missiles!" scheme.
-Ishkur would get the Tristan model. T1 Drone carrier -> T2 Drone carrier.
-Vengeance would get the Tormetor model. Sleek design before; space shrimp afterwards. I'd think this would wake the most controversy.
-And now for the Minmatar. I would let these two (Jaguar, Wolf) as they are as Minmatar AFs both rely on projectile weapons and don't have a variant that encourages missiles wich the breacher would optically fit more into.

I would like the changes for the Caldari and Gallente models and dislike the changes for the Minmatar and Amarr but if CCP would consider this, I think it would be an "all or nothing" change.

The question that arises for me ist:
Would it make sense?
Surely it might look cool (or not).
On the one hand Covert Ops allready have this (the bomber more or less fights and the other hull does the rest for every race).
On the other hand AFs are both models that encourage somewhat different approches to a fight. Mimatar and Amarr encourage close range fittings or long range fittings. Caldari and Gallente switch the main source of damage.

More T2-Hulls or better not?
I would really like to see an Ishtar with the Tristan hull or a Hawk with a Kestrel hull but I'm not sure if some Vengeance or Wolf/Jaguar pilots would be happy with this.

Anyway. That's just me (weirdly) thinking.

For Amarr I feel to see the problem that the current logi frig formerly was the T1 model for the bomber whereas all the other races got the "ommited" hulls (Tristan, Kestrel, Breacher) that are now not represented in Tech2 models.

For the Minmatar I also think (but I'm not sure if it would make sense) that they could make good use of their "second" weapon system wich would be missiles. That would give all races but the Gallente a missile option and Gallente would use their favored drones and put up the question if Amarr could also make use of drones which would push back the Khanid line even more.

4 races, 5 weapon systems (smartbombs not counted), 8 AFs. I think there is no proper solution for all players to this dilemma.

It may sound a bit confusing but I feel hard pressed to write comprehensivly after my 5th beer. :D

Eh I don't really think it matters a whole lot. It could be cool but isn't strictly necessary.

The hulls are already being used as the base for the bombers, though I have to admit, CCP ****** up when they redid the Amarr hulls and made the former mining frig a combat frig and one of the former combat frigs into the support frig. That sort of breaks the progression since the purifier is the T2 of a support ship while all the rest are T2 versions of a combat hull.

The tormentor does not have a T2 version. It's the inquisitor that has a T2 version, though that does not fit with the rest of the ships (again because they got amarr ships backwards when they redid them. Again unfortunately, with what they did the toe roles, the purifier is better suited to being a T2 tormentor while the hull bears more resemblance to the Inquisitor it is currently the T2 version of. CCP really needs to firx that. and while they are at it, Nemesis should be a Roden design.).

I really hope that they never make the Ishkur use the Tristan model, same goes with Vengeance and Tormentor.

I think the Jag could instead swap for a T2 reskin of the Firetail

At first I was thinking no, they're already in use by stealth bombers. But then I remembered they dramatically changed the stealth bomber hulls. So I think I like the idea.

What's more important to me, however, is making the tormentor be the logi frigate and bringing the Goddamned missile inquisitor back!
