Myrmidon for Exploration and 4/10 Complexes? If not, any other ships?

Hey everyone, new player here. I have about 1 million SP mostly in drones, some exploration, and random stuff for armor and capacitor. I am trying to get into exploration and ultimately do 4/10 Complexes and Radar sites. I am looking into an All-in-One ship that I can hop around into different systems without having to switch ships often.

Right now I am flying a Myrmidon, and I have a Vexor (but was told it was not powerful enough to run 4/10 Complexes). Can the Myrmidon be fitted well enough to run complexes and radar sites? I can run Level 3 missions pretty smoothly with a different fit, but I am having trouble figuring out how to fit the Myrmidon for exploration/complex running. It seems the processor runs out rather quickly with the codebreaker, one salvager, and core probe launcher fitted. I can't even fit any railguns on it.

I have this fitted for exploration but it is not working for me because it is too slow to salvage because lack of speed and salvagers. Also without guns it is hard to get them to aggro on me instead of my drones:

The fit is cap stable but I am using 480/492.2 CPU, and only 163/1351.25 of PowerGrid.

If the Myrmidon is not a good ship for my needs, then what ship is recommended for this specific task? I would prefer a Gallente ship since I am already trained in it, but if there is another ship that is much better for what I need, I will train towards it. Thank you for all your help.

here is a pretty standar fit as you skill up change to t2 modules.

it will do anything you can find in highsec,

however it'll do it very very slowly (if you can only use hybrids fit raills)

get the proteus works great for exploration

oh and getting all those cool mods and sticking it on it makes it even better

fit some guns/ewar to draw aggro at least.
Why no analyzer? Ure already all in 1 type of ship there.

I've used something similar in the past.....

Seriously you need T2 mediums (and heavies really) not EFT bullshit it works when you are close ....with a standard launcher (no need for the CPU hit from the expanded) and salvager and SOME form of prop mod....MWD preferably.

The issue you have is that that ship is near defenseless, its questionable against NPCs and its DEFEINATELY going to get rocked by other players.

When you get your Drone skills up Ishtar is a better choice, faster more agile and likely close to the same dps with heavies and sentries, likewise Proteus, but T3s are god-awful expensive and the Proteus's drone sub-system rather sucks. which means you are giving up more DPS.

Otherwise you may want to bring friends till you get your skills up a little, you should be get dual reppers with mid-sized guns (Ion blasters, 220mm ACs) or possibly 650mm rails (at work, not fitting tools handy).

This is good, but do change the hardeners according to the local rats. I would consider going with 3 sentries + 5 lights, and swap one hardener for cap mod, and a cap recharger for an omnidirectional tracking link.

Myrm is great for exploration, as it tanks well while having lots of mids free. 4/10s are easy and can be done even in a Vexor. You can of course later upgrade to an Ishtar or Proteus, but getting the skillset to fly those properly takes several months.

Uriel - Thank you for the fit. I have tweaked my fitting to something similar.

Akuma Tsukai - Yeah, I just noticed that the Expanded Launchers take up like 200 CPU while the Core Probe Launchers only take up 10. That is where my huge mistake was. I didn't think to compare the two before I bought it from the LP store. I have corrected my mistake and everything fits pretty nicely.

Nalha - Would love to try that but I would have to spend many ISK on the shield fittings.

Onictus - T2 mediums as in T2 medium drones? I have finally trained and bought them after I posted this thread. What is EFT?

Roime - Thanks for the tips, I have been switching out hardeners according to the enemy damage type.

Thank you all for all the wonderful tips. I think the biggest mistake was the stupid Expanded vs Core Sister launchers. Now that I swapped them out, I can fit salvager, railguns, and afterburner just fine and be cap stable and have mostly everything I need. I leave the codebreaker in the cargo incase I find a radar site which almost never happens. So far the armor tank with the hardeners are holding up well. Eventually I hope will train to T2 hardeners, and get the drone skills up to have better DPS.

It looks like you may have some fitting tool already, but just in case: EFT is 'Eve Fitting Tool'. It lets you build ship fits out of game and is basically essential to play. I have no idea why it hasnt been included with the EVE software by now. Its criminal really, as the people who make them are doing it for free.

Download it only from the official thread. If you havent been using it so far you will be very happy.

First tip, highlight one of the above fits and copy to your clipboard and open EFT and it will be automatically imported. Enter your character API key, and it will tell you specifics based on your character's individual skills, etc.

You should also google 'evemon' which is a skill planner.

Or EVE HQ which is open source, and includes both EFT and Evemon type features.

EDIT: And you may know about this already, but I suggest researching EVE University corp, or a similar teaching one. They may not interest you, but its worth a look. Im a graduate myself. ;)

(Edit: This fit was intended for low sec, where good ISKies lie but you could use it in hi-sec just as well).
T3 make good exploration ships but I've always used this...

You can drop the sentries (after taking agro!) and kite most NPC damage by pulsing the MWD every now and then. Reppers run stable without the MWD on but I found the kiting method meant I often only had one repper on.

Cloak + WMD = Easily avoid low sec gate camps. In fact the cloak saved my ass so many times with this ship in low sec. Obviously the probe launcher on board means you can find new sites without having to cart a buzzard around with you.

The small guns are really only to shrug of tackle frigs and I typically take other resist modules(or a codebreaker if you want that) in my cargo in case of a particularly tough or explosive-heavy site. I've even hauled this into 0.0 escalations and come out with billion-ISK modules :)
