Either this would be a business area which pays really bad, since you will not be able to ask for high prices for your service or otherwise barely anyone would be paying millions for a transport when they can just buy a shuttle for a few k.

I could only see this being a profitable business idea if the autopilot would get removed from the game.

Maybe not.. some peoples clones are worth many many millions which is a lot more then a shuttle.. and if you can get someone to shuttle your pod as cargo through (red space) say to an outpost you have stuff in because they are (Blue to the owners of the space you need to go) it might be worth it to some people i have stuff in stations i no longer have access to and have tried to sell off by contract that i would love to just dump on the local market for cheap.

But its not worth the loss of a clone. The only flaw is that i see is that there is still risk because even though someone that is blue with the people in the systems your red with.. they still have the risk of getting killed buy a red gang or what not lol

If the ship had the ability to hold pods and jump that would be worth it i think.. then you gould jump to a POS and then maybe a quick hop to the station and boom you are there.

It would also add an interesting new mechanic for moving around spys etc.

I forget which Alliance Tournament it was (seven or eight maybe,) but one of the CCP Devs was interviewed between matches and this was brought up as a possibility in the future.

The way it was explained though was more along the lines of "capturing" someones pod after a battle, instead of outright podding them you could hold the pod with a point then bring in a specialized ship and scoop them.

Amusing thought at the time, but really what would you do with the capsule? Ransom it? Would it keep them from clone jumping back to that clone until it's released?

All kinds of interesting possibilities come to mind, but is it actually doable?

How about allowing the safe transportation of jump clones so that players wouldn't have to physically move them about prior to using them. If someone destroys it so what its only a jc, if it's delivered safely them you have access to a region that you haven't had to travel to.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

You know, once upon a time Revan and I were great friends. Sadly she no longer logs in.

WTB actual mothership that can dock other player ships and jump them. Mobile starbase is a reasonable substitute.

I like this idea, the ability to dock a ship inside yours and transport it would be great.

If they ever resurrected Incarna's carcass and made it F2P for all the people who were into space barbie, then it could be cool to do this.

Capture Pods and bring into range of 3 or 4 smartbombing ships, ransom pod, rinse, repeat.

You can transport someone elses jump clone in the rorqual (and I guess titan too?). Only that the player is not really 'aboard', and has to jump into the clone afterwards. And once they do they can no longer dock with the clone vat again.

This could be cool. It could be like a transportation contract. Something like this. A ship is packaged ..capsuleer included, for transport and is immobile until delivery , tranport destruction, or a cargo jettison. A poor mans carrier. Lolz. It's then a flyable ship. Can you san Trojan Horse. These transport packages would be scamnable and the pilot catching a ride should be visible. I just can't see many eve players putting themselves into anothers care for that to happen. Someone would invent TRANSWOXing. The clone thing would be cool but I wanna see the implants on them if they r inactive clones. Basically organic crate. That could be profitable.

This would be a neat feature. But would need all sorts of checks and balances.

But as a method of doing this I would imagine to cut down on lolganks on these specialized ships, make it so any ship with the appropriate cargo capacity could do it.

Imagine it like with this scenario...

Wartargets have you hisec station camped and pretty locked down. You want to be smuggled out. Write up a transport contract, which actually behaves in mechanics to a normal courier contract. Pod only though. Perhaps known entities could grow such divisions to be trusted with pod transport so the WT's themselves don't just simply pick it up of public contracts. So then courier (read; smuggler) comes in with maybe a frigate on up to battleship with a decent hold (lets maybe have capsule volume reduced from their current 1,000m3 size), picks you up but the pod is now treated as a 'wrapped package' and put in their hold and they undock like normal business and you disappear from local when this transporter jumps out with you, leaving campers blueballed.

but even so, there are still other issues like if this smuggler gets a d/c, or pod-owner options like manually ejecting themselves if they feel like they're getting into danger suddenly, and of course collateral.
