so, ive never gate camped before, and never flown a missile ship before, so im clueless.

sicne missiles operate fairly ifferently from other weapon systems, are their aggresion mechanics different? what i mean is, when you shoot a missile at someone on auto-pilot in low-sec, will the agte guns start trying to lock your SB the second you fire your missiles, or the second the missiles hit the target?

just figured if its the later, SB's camping agtes could be something fun to do over thanksgiving break.

i KNOW its when you go redbo, but ive never dealt with missile boats in pvp before, so do you go REDBOX the second you press fire, or the second you hit the enemy? since all the other weapon systems are nigh-instant DPS, missile mechanics remain an enigma for me.

Shooting a missile at someone is an aggressive act. You redbox when the missile is fired.

To clarify further: In low sec assuming you haven't disabled it a warning will show whenever you attempt a hostile action on a nonWT/pirate asking if you want to aggress, if you click yes you will continue with that action and immediately get a GCC, from that moment on gate/station guns will engage you and your drones.

n.b. your torps do no damage if you warp off, so aligning, launching, and warping is not viable.

wow... REALLY? why the F does anybody use SB's at all then? i always wondered why when an SB tried ganking somebody in our fleet they stuck around long enough to get popped by a sniper-fit ship.

If you catch something alone, like a BS or BC, you can tear through them very quickly (if they aren't fit to deal with a frigate... especially if said frigate has sensor damps). Also, bombs hurt. A lot.
