Hi CCP Guard, maybe you can tell me when CCP is going to make good on the following statement that you guys made.

CCP wrote:
Custom, player made clothing is another major feature. It will be possible for anyone to have a custom made uniform or outfit, but to prevent "visual griefing," the color palette is being kept subdued and realistic.

Now that sounds more like it fits the sandbox of EVE, rather than this featureless NEX stuff your pedaling.

A lot has happened recently and this is not something we're working on now or thinking about too heavily as we're more focused on usability improvements and core gameplay. We do have a lot of tech already due to the work on Incarna so it's possible we might work on this in the future. It's just impossible to say at this time.

I thank you kindly for your response. This at least gives me a glimmer of hope that clothing, etc will become meaningful in the game and not the 'space barbie' joke they have become.

Also is there any chance that we can see a return of clothing that captures the original otherwordly essense of New Eden? The current designs look like they are something we will see in our own time within the next five years, not something that is worn by cultures in the far distant future on completely different worlds.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

And now you have hit the nail on the head as to one of the reasons why I advocate that the clothing items that are more race specific (Amarr robe as one example) should be tied to standings, give clothing some meaning. I understand completely your point about RP'ing as an Ammatar, the only problem is that the multitude of EVE players will wear those items simply because of how they look. And that for me and I'm sure others is immersion breaking.

Oh, you want to talk about immersion-breaking. You know what's immersion-breaking? The Caldari, as a hypercapitalist society are willing to let me buy, build and fly their warships and high-end electronic equipment, but I can't buy their flight jackets and combat trousers.

No.

No.

So you mean like how the U.S. has sold weapons to other countries that now may or may not be opposed to them. Yet I don't see any of those countries troops wearing American uniforms.

Or where countries have even used captured weapon tech against an enemy. Still didn't see them wearing the enemies uniforms unless they were spies.

History is filled with instances where weapon tech has been traded between countries or used directly against them, but the one contant is that each individual country has always had their own identity when it came to uniforms.

Even casual wear is questionable to a certain extent. Did Russians at the height of the cold war wear the latest American fashions, well maybe if they liked Syberia they did.

You don't think it would raise an eyebrow if an Amarrian was suddenly sporting the latest Gallente fashion whilst in an Amarr station. They would be getting investigated as a suspected Gallente sympathizer.

Your idea of immersion goes against everything we have seen in our own history.

CCP, Question

Can you please re-enable full avatar re-customization for everyone?
(As you did before with the new avatar editor)

Up to now, there has only been profile pics. Was fine for me.
Unfortunately, I noticed that some of my avatar proportions look... um... "overdone" in the CQ view (was not noticeable in the avatar editor - lighting issue, I suppose), and I'm afraid that would be visible in the Avatar viewer as well.

I think I might not be the only one with that issue, and we deserve the chance to correct our looks beyond the clothing layer Blink
If we're gonna avatar at all, let's do it in style \o/

And since we're on the subject of clothing:

I__W A N N A__C A T S U I T !!!

"What are you looking at?!"

This change is really silly considering It's going to be my 3rd year playing Eve Online and listening to a really bad sound engine full of bugs. Nothing has been done about it in my 3 years of playing.

Have you played Battlefield 3 ? Did you notice the quality of sound and what it brings to the game ?

You put time and effort in the wrong places.

The question I have for you is: on-board sound or soundcard? i ask because on-board sound systems are 'barebones' and won't deliver the quality of a proper soundcard.

For what it's worth, I've played on and off over the past four years (on various characters and accounts) and I've never experienced any serious sound issues.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

Hi guys. If manhours are going to be spent on these "features" then at least make it interesting. If someone cares enough to zoom in and check out my full body avatar I want the option to roll without pants.

Also we will need two more sliders, one for the length of the shaft and another for the size of scrotum. with perhaps a tick box for elephantitis on the scrotum.

edit: the actual anatomical word for "bag" is censored.
