just point at a random EVE player and you'll probably have found one of these dirty scoundrels.

CCP does a much better job at selling additional subscriptions to existing players than at getting new players into the game. Killing multiboxing would probably kill EVE at this point.

Something CCP really should address before Eve dies off completely as it truly ruins the experience for those of us with other things to do in life.

Confirming that this is an "EvE is dying" thread. Tell me what advantage I have over you when I pay $105 a month for EvE versus your $15? Surely any in-game "advantages" that I may have need to be averaged out across all of my accounts? Or is the math only allowed to work to support your point and no one else's?

I live EVE. I give more money to CCP than you. So pardon me when I say if you feel so strongly that EVE is dying then WoW is that way and I don't even want your stuff...

Well, it probably isn't dying due to the niche it fills.

However, a lot of things are terribly unbalanced, driving away those of us who play a game solo (how it should be played IMO).

I too think EVE would have been better if only 1 character per player was ever allowed, however it is too late to come back on that now.

Along with more "fairness" it certainly would have ad an effect on anti-social behavior (like corp awoxing) and have generated more player interaction.

If CCP had ever intended for alt accounts to be against the rules, this would be a fleet-commanding strategy game, not an open, real-time sandbox.

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

How does it drive away solo players? Have you ever multi-boxed PvP? That stuff is NOT EASY. In fact, it's a fantastic way to lose two ships instead of just one. So if you think a multiboxer has an advantage over you - do something unpredictable and chances are you'll throw him off balance and get a couple kill mails. As for multi-boxing for mining, etc, yeah, the m3 I make per hour is very large, but again, you need to average this out per account. Then it works out to exactly what you would make - a little bit more perhaps, because of better organization between hauling and mining, and none of my alts is going to steal my stuff, but not much of an advantage. Remember I pay for 7 subs. So the actual minerals per US dollar paid in subs is exactly what you will get. How is that unfair?

You might as well scream that life is unfair because I can afford more than you. Well, that's up to you.

EVE would not have survived with only 1 account allowed methinks. The game is too slow paced and boring on single box with the exception of scheming and organizing stuff.

The real truth about multiboxing is people do it so they don't have to deal with babies like you.

Level the game for the lowest common denominator. That's a good idea.

That Anathema loss yesterday must have really rustled your shorts Mr Phaade? What?

Alts and multi-boxing are just another part of EVE. *shrug*

You'll be ok! Get an alt and go get even. Big smile

Its not a matter of ability, just a matter of belief, because it ruins the immersion, and the connection you feel to the game world through your character.

I disagree. I roleplay a lot with my main, and occasionally with alts, I love immersion-gaming. But my alts are generally kept for support tasks, or to give me the ability to have eyes/ears in more than one place at once. That doesn't effect or diminish my immersion whatsoever. Smile

Sometimes it's in fact all about ability. I rarely PVP with anything more than dual-box. I find it almost impossible to control and manage more than 2 ships in combat, not to mention I often need to buffer tank because again it's easier for me to manage ships than with active tanking while multiboxing.

Mining stuff or shooting stationary objects? Sure I'll log in 5 or 6 accounts lol

I agree with you - it would have encouraged more cooperation between industrialists for one.

But it is too late to change it, so we'll live with it. I only have one account and I am having fun anyway!

Are you seriously measuring your epeen by the number of accounts you have subbed? Just so you know, you're as insignificant as the OP.

I agree. It destroys the sandbox and anyone who claims otherwise is a liar or ignorant of the facts.

The question is how long the income from people having multiple accounts will outweigh the players the game loses because of them.
