Wormhole fires

Not sure if this is how it's gonna be for now on or a clear problem but wh fires seem a bit messed up. It fires when you initiate warp to it. Makes people watching the hole think someone is jumping in. Anyone else find this yet?

Someone else mentioned this and at first I couldn't replicate it, but been noticing it since first dt after rubicon. Swear I read it was a bug, but it's so oddly specific I don't think it is... However, the animation and sound for warping vs jumping are different, it's the same as hitting a half mass or mass crit.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Yeah I'm also pretty confused on whether it's a bug or not. No word from CCP on whether it's a bug or not, and the previous patches so far have fixed the WH fire sound, but failed to fix this. Perhaps it is a feature after all.

Stealth nerf to support Nullbears who can't handle the lack of free intel tools they're used to having in Nullsec?

The whole soundscape of EVE is borked. I mean, OK, some of the sounds are better and cool, but if you have to zoom waaaay the hell out to avoid your house sounding like the turbine hall at Chernobyl and getting the wife angry, then something is wrong.

Nah, we're getting it on fresh holes too.

Yup.

  • Wormhole activation (when someone else than you jumps through) is awfully quiet right now; It's just a low rumble, probably 100% inaudible on smaller speakers/volumes).
  • When someone initiates a warp to the hole on your side, it makes the same wobbly visual effect and eerie sound as when the hole's size gets reduced.

The first one I don't really mind myself to be honest (people can easily slip through if hole watch isn't paying proper attention, I like!) but the second issue is an annoying tell of someone coming at you on your side. I like the feeling of sitting on a WH and having to constantly watch dscan just that no uncloaked ship can drop on you.

Now if the WH goes wobbly-wobble and I know that no fleetmates are warping to me, I know that someone's coming at me. That sucks. We don't want more intel tools, right?
