This could be a new level of trolling like when i create a character, buy and iteron and fill it with worthless stuff and then i jump to low sec. The next step is to make a fun thread in GD.

I don't think this is a legit loss and GD is the place for these jokes.

This also crossed my mind. And if its a troll...time for ISD to lock the thread.

But only after all people can make fun of the idiot.

Why do you call him that? He seems to have fun, so by definition, he's winning EVE, even though it's a very expensive way to have fun. Blink

Don't take it too hard Ivy. Just use this as a learning experience. Welcome to EVE, where you truly should never "fly what you cannot afford to lose."

On the bright side, this proved very amusing to the bitter vets. Just do a bit more research next time before you undock in something shiny. In the end, they are just internet spaceships. You can come back from this, though it may be a while before certain people allow you to live it down. Roll

To be fair it wasn't *that* expensive of a loss. The thing was completely unfitted, after all, and (iirc) the least valuable dreadnought. Sure, it may cost more than battleship, but once you consider the average machariel loss mail with its deadspace fitting and T2 rigs, this thing wasn't all that bad of a loss.

Not a forum alt.

I feel atm a bit bad about killing that guy but thats eve.
First off I dont know that guy and just spotted him with my alt sitting at the uedama gate and trying to jump into high sec.
With raz (in my tengu) being 10 jumps out I burned as fast as I could towards Kubinen.
When I arrived there he logged off but I saw him still on scan and warped to the sun to see where he is.
When I landed there I just saw him entering warp 100km away from me.
Unfortunattly I reshiped my alt from his boosting loki to a cyno punisher and had to do 1 jump to get the probing loki.
When I started scanning he dissapeared. Then I just sit there for 10-15 mins waiting for him to log back in. He logged back I pointed him cynoed in my moros alt and he died in under 1 min (He initiated self destruct in structure).
I just can say aswell dont buy a ship befor you know atleast how to move it.
gf to all involved (some pirats shoot my moros after the phoenix died).

Not because of the loss. That happens.

But because of the very very obvious lack of even reading a slight bit about quite an expensive ship you are going to fly.

1.) Bit of research and he would already have known that you need cyno's and hence shouldn't had to ask how to move it.
2.) A little bit of research and he would have known you can just dock a carrier and fit it. The undockable only counts for supercapitals.
3.) He likely plays solo...or some magic happened and NPC corps are now a close bunch of players, and bought a ship that is a fleet ship (a Dread without a support fleet is just space wreck waiting to happen).

That said, a dread is kind of useless unless you plan on shooting large (nearly) stationary objects in the first place.

Wait...he even tried to jump it into high-sec?

Thomas...this just proofs my point as earlier stated.

To CCP: See what happens when you dumb down EVE and make certain ships too easy to skill into. It's not the first and certainly not the last person who flies above his knowledge.

Yeah, up until the other side of the story was posted, I was under the impression that he was playing an expensive forum game.

Oh, and CAS does have capitals, but we're a bit special for an NPC corp Big smile.

Well, I too have a carrier pilot that is still in the noob NPC corp.

But a carrier is a more a solo ship then a dreadnought is.
I haven't seen any solo dreadnought that did survive for a long time. But then again, that could also be wrong because he is clever and stays under the radar.

You can actually play around with capitals on the test server, Singularity (SiSi), because they only cost 100 ISK there, and nobody bothers you (one of the rules of SiSi).

The Phoenix is the best at hitting structures, but is the worst at hitting everything else that can move. It is a joke ship because it is so bad. I've played around with a Phoenix on SiSi simply to admire the missile graphics; that's about all it is good for.

Repeat, go to SiSi and play around in capitals first!

I admire your attitude. The first time I lost a billion isk ship I was devastated. Next time you have questions about flying or fitting a ship, please feel free to evemail me, and I can attempt to give you some pointers or direct you to some resources.

Oh Ivy...I appreciate you providing 'content' but next time maybe ask for some help before undocking an unfitted capitol ship.
