Help me set up my 1st POS

Hallo fellow industrialists,

I have been concentrating in manufacturing and using the public avalable slot, but now that i want to start the T2 production and the manufacturing slots at the place i do the manufacturing get smaller and smaller i have decided to set up my on POS for production.
A friend of mine gave me this site: http://eve.1019.net/pos/index.php
Looks like a realy nice tool, but i still have questions.

The POS will be in 0.2 low.sec set in Galante space. This led me to 2 things - i`ll need some kind of defence and it should be Galante tower, for easier fuel shipping.

But i still don`t understand about what modules i will need.
Let me tell you what i plan to do there:

1 facility that does ME reaserch
1 facility that does PE reaserch
(Thoes 2 should be Mobile Laboratory, right ? but witch one`s - normal / advanced / hyasyoda / expermantal ? HOW do they differ?)

A few facilities that will copy (2-5) (what are the names for thoes?)
A few facilities for Invention (2-5) (what are the names for thoes?)

And about 5 facilities that will manufacture:
1 or 2 of thoues for Drones (Assembly Array - Drone)
3-4 - for rig production (small / medium / Large) (what are the names for thoes?)

+ some defence. Any tips on them is also welcome :)

Anything that i overlooked ?

If it's a research tower, why lowsec?

Rigs are made in Equipment arrays, same as all ship equipment.

Unless you're a pretty big-time manufacturer already, there is ZERO reason to to any manufacturing whatsoever at your pos. Rid yourself of this idea ENTIRELY.

No reason to do lowsec for research unless somehow a hisec tower is impossible for you (it shouldn't be), or need a lowsec pos for some entirely separate reason. If you do do pos research, do not put high value BPOs in the pos, rather keep them in the corp hangar of a nearby (does this have to be same-system?) station and research remotely.

Two words you want to google are "Dickstar" and "Deathstar". Lots of info on the interweb.

You could get an answer to most of your questions by looking at the showinfo of relevant modules in game. Frankly I doubt your ability to maintain a lowsec POS by yourself if you can't figure that out.

The regular mobile lab has the PE slots and the invention slots.
The advanced lab is great for doing copies (it has the best time bonus).

FYI, Gallente towers kind of suck. They don't have much grid nor cpu, nor do they have a useful damage bonus, because hybrid POS defences are quite bad; use projectiles instead. The only reason to use them is for a reaction tower you won't service often (beware of siphon units), and even then an Amarr or Caldari tower is arguably better for reactions.

I would strongly discourage you from doing manufacturing or research in low sec. A tower like that will attract attention. And not the good kind. Get a tower in high sec, even a 0.5 system. At least then people have to actually war dec you to kill it.

Avoid doing manufacturing of anything other than drones and ammo in a tower. Hostiles can easily destroy your tower with 24-48 hours notice. Most of your jobs will be longer than that, which means you lose everything that's building at the time.

Beyond that, the guides that were linked are really good.

Nobody will bother shooting a POS on a blank moon for just a bunch of labs. Unless you were to do something monumentally stupid, like, dunno, post about the POS on the forums with your main.
