The Eve fitting window when opened lags out and crashes Eve and the computer. This is in space, POS's and in stations, switching ships and back before opening the fitting window sometimes stops it from crashing but not always. Never had any problems before Rubicon came out.

Mac Mini (Mid 2011)
2.5 Ghz i5
8Gb DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6630m
OS X 10.9 (13A603)

Just to add, it's a game breaker. You can not play the game if fitting window crashes the whole computer.

Please do something.

Hi.

We are trying to reproduce this, but have so far not been successful.

Could you please tell us which graphics settings you are using?

I'm having the same behavior on my Early 2008 24-inch iMac running OS X Mavericks, but not on my Mid 2012 13-inch Macbook Pro running OS X Mavericks. It only started yesterday, 2013/11/25, which was also the day that I messed around with my graphics settings. (Rubicon seemed to reduce the quality of models, which possibly prompted people to mess with their graphics settings?)

I'm not sure what settings the iMac had before, when it was working fine, but right now, with the problems presenting itself, the iMac is currently running the following graphics settings:

Display Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
Use multithreaded OpenGL: Yes
Present Interval: Immediate

All effects on

Resource Cache Enabled: YES
HDR Enabled: YES
Load Station Environment: YES

Anti-Aliasing: Low
Post Processing: Low
Shader Quality: Low
Texture Quality: Low
LOD Quality: Low
Shadow Quality: Low
Interior Effects: High
Interior Shader Quality: High

For reference, the MacBook Pro (which isn't experiencing the problem) is running the following settings:

Display Adapter: Intel HD Graphics 4000
Use multithreaded OpenGL: Yes
Present Interval: Interval one

All effects on

Resource Cache Enabled: NO
HDR Enabled: YES
Load Station Environment: YES

Anti-Aliasing: High
Post Processing: High
Shader Quality: Medium
Texture Quality: High
LOD Quality: High
Shadow Quality: High
Interior Effects: High
Interior Shader Quality: High

Any suggestions for options I should try changing on the iMac that might have a better chance of making the issue go away? Thanks.

Still crashes the computer and forcing it to be rebooted after the latest update. There is something new however this time the fitting window became all garbled.

Been working on this bug today. I reset all the settings and everything seemed to be working ok, the fitting window didn't crash. I hopped over to dioxide to get a new ship. Loaded up the fitting window and the game crashed and i had to reboot.

I reset my settings to the default settings (which I'll list below), and it seems to have resolved the problem for me -- I can now open the fitting window without freezing. I'm not sure which of the elements made the difference, but I'm just gonna leave it like this and enjoy having a working game again :) It did involve raising many of the graphics settings, which has lowered my framerate, but I'd rather have a playable game with 20fps than nice smooth 30fps but unable to ever fit a ship again.

New settings (default) :

Windowed or Fullscreen: Fullscreen
Adapter Resolution: 1920x1200
UI Scaling: 100%
Display Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
Use multithreaded OpenGL: Yes
Present Interval: Interval one

All effects on

Resource Cache Enabled: NO
HDR Enabled: NO
Load Station Environment: YES

Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
Post Processing: High
Shader Quality: Medium
Texture Quality: High
LOD Quality: High
Shadow Quality: High
Interior Effects: High
Interior Shader Quality: High

Also, in case it's relevant, I turned off Advanced Camera Menu and Enable Greenscreen Portrait Background, since those were off by default as well.

HAppening here too.

2008 imac, Upgraded graphics card (256meg)

What does work fairly well:

LOWEST GRAPHIC SETTINGS
NO SOUND

And if you have to fit a ship, activate it, then right click on the modules (fit to ship)

Yes, it's a pain

I'm having this same problem. It just started after the recent rubicon re-patch debacle. Is there some chance this bug has been re-introduced? Was it ever fixed for you all?

Same thing for me too. Works fine when running single client, however when I have 2 clients on the same machine (worked fine before rubicon) running at 1280x960 resolution, it crashes when I open the fitting window. The graphics settings are set to very low for everything.

I have a 2011 27" iMac, 2.7 i5, 4gb RAM, Radeon HD 6770m graphics card, running OS X Lion 10.7.5
