Evening,
So I'm new to W-space, and I've been trying to read up as much as I can here and through guides before I move in. There is one question that I can't seem to find an answer on. In order to answer my question, I'll state some things I read that I think are true;

1) Inside a WH, if it is an outgoing hole and you don't warp to it. A K162 signature won't spawn (be scannable) in where ever it connects, be it another WH, LS, HS, or NS.

2) To try to limit the number of connections for security purposes, you can mass collapse unwanted WHs and only the statics will reappear.

So, my question is, if I scan down 4 wormholes while in w-space, how do I know which ones are outgoing and (assuming no one else has warped to them) haven't formed an exit K162 and which ones are incoming K162s that I could collapse?

Do you just scan all the signatures, and then collapse all the wormholes and the ones that respawn are the statics and if you don't warp to them, they won't open exits? Or is there a way to tell that I don't know about yet?

Thanks! I'll see you guys on dscan soon (or will I?)

There is no way to tell. Even if it is your static, there is no way to tell that a sneaky covert ops pilot has not probed it and warped to it during your bathroom break, or more realistically, while you were sleeping and at work.

Only true security is paranoia, and then some more paranoia, and having really paranoid scouts for friends, who you should also be paranoid about. Did I mention that we are really out to get you?

Basically assume that any time you don't have eyes in the wormhole constantly watching that someone has come in, scanned all sigs, warped to them, and they are now all activated.

Any wormhole besides your static should be assumed to have opened from the other side as far as being active goes.

And even after you have reached the amount of paranoia as WH vets, there is still BLOOD UNION to wreck your day

Hypothetically you can guess what is a k162 vs your static or another outgoing hole based on your scan strength. But deep space probes were removed and this is not very scientific. So it's still safer to scout them all and roll them all if you re trying to be secure

wh variance for k162's is 6.22au. any wh with higher than 6.22au variance is either a static or roaming wh{originating from yours}. That being said, the k162 probers almost always spawn the static.
