capital ship problems

So I recently got myself the phoenix and un-docked it without equipping it with anything, So now I'm wondering how do I equip it with stuff if I'm unable to dock? Also, how exactly do I jump to other systems? I'm stuck Straight

I've been told I'm somewhat famous, no idea why...

Oh jeez. I hope this is a joke.

First off, the phoenix can dock. Capital ships can dock. Supercapitals (supercarriers and titans) cannot dock.

In order to refit a ship that cannot dock, you have to use a ship maintenance array.

Any alliance that can support a supercapital should already have these set up.

In order to jump between systems in a capital, several conditions must be met.
You must be in range of a beacon or cyno field.

The field must be in your fleet if not a beacon anchored to a POS.
You must have fuel.

The actual action is: right-click on your capacitor or your ship, select "jump to".

Each capital ship uses the race's ice isotopes (aka, Phoenix is nitrogen).
The cynosural field is fueled by liquid ozone.

Yeah, you do deserve to lose that Phoenix, seeing as you are 1) in an NPC corp, 2) no tank no nothing fitted, and 3) it looks like you just trained to fly it for the lulz or something.

edit: alright... I'll try to be helpful.

OP...

- capital ships of all types are more "group oriented" ships that rely on others (mostly subcapital ships) to be effective.

- "normal" capital ships (see: carriers and dreadnoughts) can dock in stations just like any other ship.

- "supercapital" ships (see: Supercarriers and Titans) cannot dock in stations. They require a POS (Player Owned Starbase (see: those "stick" things at moons with the giant "bubble" around them)) with certain structures to fit and refit. Alternatively, you can use an Orca or a carrier (with another player inside it) to perform the same function.

- capital ships of all types are hyperfocused relative to other Tech 1 ships (see: they are only good at one or two things).

- except for carriers, capital ships are generally bad at engaging anything smaller than they are.

- ANY capital ship that is by itself, with no support, is pretty much a dead capital ship (as everyone and their mother will come after you).

- capital ships of all types cannot jump through stargates. They require fuel (racial ship specific) and a second party to light a beacon that it can "jump" to.

- the best way to learn about capital ships is to hang out with people who already fly capital ships. You just have to gain their trust before they will teach you about these multi-billion ISK assets.

destroyed my lord that was good i thought it was a joke checked eve kills and was like damn i mean i thought logic would call atleast try to dock and if you thought it couldnt dock back up why wouldnt you atleast fit something

You bought a cap without doing any bit of research on them...you did not deserve that ship and its best you lost it this soon.

And why oh why would a NPC dweller need a Phoenix any way. You do know they are fleet ships that require sub cap backup to survive.

Well Ivy, you really should have done research BEFORE you undocked.

And PLEASE get out of that NPC corp, I doubt you get anything positive from being in it ... I have an alt in an NPC corp, and the level of misinformation, tinfoil and trolling is gigantic in chat.

If/when I get a Cap in a year or two maybe it would be either Archon/Revelation/Thanatos/Moros.

Because I know the Archon > Thanny, and Moros > Rev, but the Thanny/Rev look so smexy. :D
