Good luck with this fresh attempt at creating a community in NPC Stain Aaron.

To those of you that may be thinking of leaving high-sec and trying 0.0 for the first time my advice is go for it! I joined the original 'Invitation To 0.0' several years ago and I am still living in Stain. It isn't difficult to relocate to NPC 0.0 and there are many opportunities to make good ISK and experience PvP.

I wish you all the best Aaron and hope you get a huge response.

Hi there,

I'm a little concerned that there is confusion as to what the goal is. The goal is for a high sec coalition of corps, solo players and alliances to dwell down here by setting one another blue and fulfilling their roles.

It would be great to have a security corp here who could watch over the belt ratters and miners for example, this wouldn't be about me leading or even having a plan I would simply be blue to both parties and offer advice or assistance as and when needed. In no shape or form would I be their leader. A point of contact yes, but by no means their leader. Perhaps I'd attend meetings with these folk in some kind of forum/town hall environment but thats it really.

Please try to understand, its not about me achieving this its about the people in hi-sec and myself achieving this.

Oh, doing something like this is totally possible. I've been a part of it and it was a good time (not stain, but pure blind). We had a few independent corps that had standings and intel channels, we dominated our NPC station, and we weren't blued with anyone else in the region. There difference is, you kind of have to actually do the work of building up your own corp and doing it, and seeking out partners from hisec or low or whatever. If people wanted to do this, they could do it already without you. So you have to be a leader and get people in your corp to just start doing it. And for that, you have to be a leader, which you said you don't want to do, and you have to get people to like you and work with you, and from this thread, they apparently don't.'

You can't make a thread and expect people to care. You gotta hit up the recruitment forums, and look for other corps that are recruiting and see what they do and try to recruit them. Find the corps looking to train PVP pilots and that have ambitions to grow and move out of empire.

Hello,

My Name is Aaron, I've been playing since the beginning.

I will probably be kicked from my alliance for what I am about to propose. Please be aware that this is nothing personal against the people I have allied myself with, try to see it as a dude just wanting to play his game. I'm not satisfied with the way things are going in this game and I feel I have the power to help change it.

I'd like to create a community in the NPC Stain region and help kickstart an economy.

Recruitment I hear you say? actually no.

I want to help create a pocket of high sec in Stain where people work as a team regardless of corp, alliance, gender, and race. I'd want to speak with like-minded people who have thought of this vision and would like to help make it a reality.

The kind gentlemen and good ladies of CCP will give us the tools to realise this fun and epic quest today, and, as the months pass it will become easier as more tools will become available to us.

I must point out that this is a disciplined style of gameplay that can be very successful if we have a good teamwork ethic. If you've got a skill to offer such as mining, freight services, pvp, or diplomacy then I'd like to hear from you.

I have tried and tested tactics that will enable you to earn lots of isk with a very small outlay.

I look forward to hearing from you, and remember, never underestimate the power of the little guy.

Hmmm...interesting I will Look into this. Harbringer? Winds of change Perhaps?

You seem orders of magnitude more competent, intelligent, and reasonable than Aaron, perhaps you should consider being the frontman for this.

There's two types of people in EVE- those who build sandcastles and those who kick them down.

Best of luck with your sandcastle concept!

First of all I would like to show my respect to Dreldor who was one of the original members of Hub Zero, for his post.

In terms of my position, this is Aaron's idea, his passion, something that he wants to see develop and flourish, his enthusiasm creates a driving force and properly channeled makes things work, I have seem Aaron get people together and focussed and get things done. And because it was how I got into 0.0 I wanted to help Aaron try to get Hub Zero up and running again, having spoken to my alliance leader I am now clear to fully commit to Hub Zero.

Aaron is a leader, simple as, I for my part will advise him and help him. A very good friend has assisted greatly which was a wonderful act, thank you.

In terms of building up a corp, yes that is certainly one way, however with certain structural issues around Eve, I am keeping my corp very tight, the real thing is to bring in corps, alliances and individuals who want to experience 0.0, the fun part of this is that they can do this simply by setting up a clone here and a few ships, they don't have to be here all the time. Its a relationship based loose structure with some people more hard core than others. We are after the person or people who do not want to be in the main blocks, who do not want to pay rent and who want something more than hisec. This is a good place to try 0.0 more as an individual. So that is why we have not gone the traditional way of building a corp.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Funny idea but the sad truth is that this is unnecessary. If you want to have a bunch of blues around you in 0.0 isn't that where alliances come in? There is no point in having something be neutral ground either. So it would literally be a group of people blueing each other and trusting each party to keep to it. I don't think EvE is the place for that right now.

Dracvlad doesn't lie but he omits a lot.

When Dracvlad says "Aaron is actually a very good small gang FC" then he is right. But you should ask yourself whether being a small gang FC (with a very heavy emphasis on picking his fights btw) is really the most important qualification you would expect from a leader of such a loose cooperative as Aaron proposes.

When Dracvlad says "Aaron is honest [...], he is incapable of scamming anyone" then he is again right but again you should ask yourself whether this is actually an important (or even a beneficial!) trait of character in this situation. E.g. The Mittani is definitely not always honest and very capable of scamming people yet the alliance lead by him seems to be doing quite well if I dare say so.

(I'm not interested in joining this project.)

Hello Herzog,

Yes its me, good to know you're reading as your input is greatly appreciated.

I do agree with you as it goes. I would actually like to be perceived as a caretaker that knows lots. I don't want to be a leader, I just want to be a guy who gives advice on how to achieve this Hub Zero.

I do feel that there should be a forum/town hall for people to air their views and opinions.

Hey Bronski,

Great to read you on here. Over the years I've come to appreciate your no nonsense attitude and logical approach.

The response I gave to Herzog is my general feeling regarding leadership. And I think Herzog may be right. If this is to succeed we may have to look at a different style of managing this.

Thanks for your input to this cause, and may your game be blessed with lots of isk and fun times :)

I'm very happy to be working with Dracvlad, I see this as a small victory for the Hub Zero concept. I also feel previous attempts at Hub Zero were somewhat successful because I got to meet good people like Dracvlad who is now ready to come back and help out.

I'm very excited about the possibilities, win or lose, I know it will be an epic adventure.

Isn't that what the CFC and other Coalitions do, blue up other alliances and trust each party to keep it and play by the rules, of course there is a central entity within that which sets the rules and enforces it, in the case of the CFC its the Goons. The CFC is a classic coalition made up of entities joined by mutual self interest, however the next step was the creation of squads within the Coalition which bonds them together further then say N3. The Squads bind people with the same game interests and TZ together in the coalition, making a super alliance.

Hub Zero is really an attempt to create a coalition around a functioning market and ganging together for protection against others, it has been proven to work by the very first Hub Zero, the advantage is no taxes, no forced participation and no one ordering you to deploy to the other side of Eve or else!!

I spoke to Aaron yesterday about the approach, structure and strategy, we also agreed that I will be the leader for Hub Zero, also the plan is to start operations 5th December, note that some elements will take time to get fully up to speed.

I just want to make sure its clear, this is a community which will be based around a market and logistics, the objective is to get people who are hisec based used to operating in 0.0 on their own terms, so for example placing an exploration alt with us is perfectly fine, because that is introducing you to 0.0 which is the primary aim of this. That being said experienced hands would also be welcome.

It will be so much easier for you if you can at least fly a covert ops, when I first came to 0.0 I did not have that trained, but it was the first thing I did once I was there, and while you are at it, having interceptors would be no bad thing either as you can blast through bubble camps pretty easy with them.

Be a hero at Hub Zero!

Hmmm, lets be nice, lets say I knew nothing about the Goons, and trundled off to CAOD and was met by the awesomeness known as Charles Case, I bet my view of the Goons would be a lot different to the reality of them being the elite sov alliance in Eve.

All that proves is that Aaron is not very good at trolling, well he is no where near as good as Charles Case, but then again who is? But thanks for the bump! Big smileShockedRoll
