I know this might be a matter of opinion, but is it beter to fit (2) shield extenders II or fit (1) shield booster and (1) shield extender II?

I'm shield tanking and was looking for some advice from you exp players.

Thanks

Well first question is what ship are you using and what for?

PvE it's always good to have a shield booster with maybe a shield boost amp, unless you can have good passive tank which few can. The Rattlesnake and Drake are the only 2 I know that are really good at passive rep, not ever sure if the Drake is anymore.

PvP if you have logi you want extenders, if you are in a small to medium gang with no logi, you'd probably want a couple ASBs.

You could mix, but no real reason for that in PvE, and in PvP just use a extender rig if you have to room and make your active tank as good as possible.

This really isn't an easy question to answer. It really depends on what you at trying to do.

Generally it is better to stick with either active or passive tanks, not mix them. So you would be looking at 2x Shield Extenders or a Shield booster/shield boost amp.

Rigs to taste. Downgrade T2 to meta 4 whereever. It's a hell of a tight fit on grid and not all that forgiving on CPU either; rigs will help there. Wedging on the second MSE isn't worth the tradeoffs as far as I'm concerned; might as well get your resists up instead.

Use a small shield boost and don't worry about the extenders for PvE

Armor repairer + plate is often used on light, armor tanked ships for pvp, one reason is that a ship can only have 1 ancillary armor repairer. The other reasons are that it gives you enough buffer to survive big alpha hits, and allows you to let the repper rest/reload while your ship is taking light damage.
The same principles apply to shield tanking, but the modules are a little diffrent. Ancillary shield boosters does not have a limit of just 1 like the ancillary armor repairer, but does have a long reload time. Two of them are often used for brawling fits, while 1 ASB and one shield extender might be better for some nano/kite fits.

PvP? First get a better boat haha. They dual ASB, scarm if you are getting close, disrupt if you are kiting and if able put a web.
