Can we turn off the new jump animation?

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, [u]please[/u] give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Seriously?!? That was their response? Months ago devs in this thread specifically promised improvements and updates to this issue - where are they? CCP Devs need to take some courses in customer service, because they seem to like to violate the cardinal rules at every chance they can get.

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.     _ - Kina Ayami_

I would champion the off switch but I stopped playing after blink gate. Now I just pop on to the forums to find dumb posts.

This is ridiculous solution to the very simple problem.
Adding one check-box to the animation settings seems beyond competence.

The major issue is that its just graphic settings which not affects gameplay in any way (apart from making you sick).
Lets make maximum graphic settings the only option available and the majority will applaud.

What kills me is that CCP actually started out with a half-decent attitude on this. They weren't willing to let us turn it off ("cop out"), but they did seem interested in at least trying to improve it.

For some reason though, they have long since gone silent and have adopted the usual "treat our customers like crap" mantra that has become SOP for CCP of late.

Well, I put this in the thread for the CSM town hall meeting this weekend; we'll see if anything actually comes of it. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of hope; most of the few CSM members who have said anything about this in the past have generally had a worse attitude than some of the devs.

Anyone see anything in the patch notes? I didn't. Ugh

Let's not forget that the gate animation randomly freezes PCs using older intel graphics cards. Wonderful in nullsec.

Optional space left below for the fanbois to all jump in and say "just fork out the cash for a "supported" graphics card" :

I wanted to try if the jump animation had gone any better after the release but now it s*cks worse than ever. I got stuck in an endless animation complete with rotation and flashes for minutes until I realized that it was just the animation - I had actually arrived at the new system and could warp to the next gate even though the animation was looping.

So they didn't change anything expect to f*ck it up. Yeah, an off-button must be hard to implement .... meanwhile I am back to map jumping again.

It's funny when everyone was excited about the new jump animation, now people hate it and want to get rid of it. Yet they wonder why CCP rarely often gives us anything 'nice & pretty'. Look if you play any sort of video game (EvE is not a game, it's REAL!) you need to upgrade to something decent. It's not hard to save up $1000 (if you have any means of income), build your own rig and you'll be good for the next 2-5 years. That being said, buff the T3 Legion!

You could run EVE on a top-end supercomputer, and it still wouldn't fix the physical problems this animation is causing, or make it any less annoying through several jumps.
