Things missing

It feels like EVE has a few things missing, that would make it seem more realistic and fun., but aren't really needed.

Ships cruiser size and larger don’t have shuttles on them or any other type of transport for going from ship to ship or ship to planet. It makes no sense, as cruisers are around the size of aircraft carriers, I’m sure they would be able to fit a couple shuttles, and/or drop ships.

Escape pods, you can see a persons corpse, but you either can’t see escape pods or ships don’t have them. I understand the Capsuleer won’t be using one, but the crew of Capsuleer ships and none Capsuleer ships would have them I’m sure. You should be able to add them to overview and if you choose shoot them if you can lock them fast enough.

Being able to play as a none Capsuleer, being mortal. I think this be interesting, and would also make clear how slow and inefficient a full crew was compared to a Capsuleer. Also when your ship blows up, well if you didn’t get to an escape pod, game over for that character. Just be something to help go deeper in the EVE world.

Traffic in New Eden, as Capsuleers are only about .00001% of the population I’d say the traffic in New Eden is lacking. There should be none capsuleer flown cargo ships, freighters, person transports, transports coming and going from station to planets, and etc. We shouldn’t only see Capsuleer ships and security ships.

Anyone else have ideas for things to add to EVE, but isn't really needed for game play.

You seem confused about EvE.

I would highly suggest you read the lore / novels of Eve-Online. They explain a lot of what you are talking about.

I would agree that it is a side of Eve that would be interesting to experience. I had hoped, when I first started playing, that the promise of Walking in Stations would bring that world into the game, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

As far as traffic in New Eden, that is also explained in the lore / novels. For non-capsuleers it is a sickening experience, often requiring them to take heavy drugs to numb their bodies from the effects of space/gate travel, or sleeping through the whole experience. So, that would explain the somewhat limited non-capsuleer traffic.

Unless the intention of your post was to get abused and ridiculed I'd recommend the Features&Ideas section.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Non-constructive, useless threads are indeed lockable, thank God................especially when opintless.

I have read the books and good deal of the lore. All ships would still have escape pods on them. And as Capsuleers are only .00001% of all the people in New Eden there would still be a lot of none capsuleer ships flying about, and should be ships coming and going from planets and/or space elevators also. Even the books talk about transports with people being moved around and such.

Now the flying a ship as a none capsuleer, I think it just be fun to have to worry about dieing haha.

Perma-Death in New Eden.....gotta admit that might be fun. . . but it would need something to off-set the training time.

Its not a matter of realism, its a matter of using the money you pay CCP with to add the most valuable ideas to the game. Apart from the obvious 'complete realism wouldn't work in a game like this'

I would rather the art team work on designing a new ship hull rather then redoing all the ships to have obvious places to dock a shuttle at, or spending time making mini escape pods for crews.

Speaking of escape pods for crews, if you understand the way most capsuleers see 'mortals' they are irrelevant. No-one cares about them, why would you bother showing them on the overview or even have your camera drones locate and display them on screen for you?

Now before you say 'oh but i roleplay a loving pod pilot who cares and looks after his crew' If they added crew escape pods, would you seriously go back and pick up all your crew after your ship died? Even if pve, when you died in that mission, would you really take the time to go back and pick up every escape pod one by one EVERY time you died? Nope, waste of time for CCP to add this

No, but I might have a nice memorial service that we could all not attend but maybe send flowers. Inexpensive flowers.

Everywhere it would always crash. Imagine all the escape pods in system where people farm missions.

Perhaps the traffic is there and we capsuleers just don't see it because its removed from our overviews and filtered out by our camera drones. So we can focus on killing and rekilling each other.

Extra dev time and server load for fluff. Great plan.

If you like this kind of thing take a look at Star Citizen. I hear it's going to be 90% NPC's, once it stops being 100% vapour.
