Energy Core 1 (V.I.R.A.L.)

I applied to Energy Core 1 a few days ago, so I would have some people to talk to while I do my carebear stuff on this character P

Turns out, they don't want to talk, they just want to kill / ransom you after you join corp.

They asked me to do a courrier for them while they were accepting my application. I checked it, (highsec to highsec) and began making my way towards the destination. The moment I jumped through the last gate, they accepted me into corp, as few of them had gathered at the gate in battleships.

I got a clue as to what was about to go down, so I got onto my main, and got him into his scimitar, and called for RR support to meet me at the freighter. The only other support I ended up with was an Exequror Ugh

I was about 1 jump out when the freighter's cloak expired. They immediatedly pointed and webbed the freighter, and demanded 400 million isk or to contract my hulk over as payment for release. My friend and I jumped through, and began bumping the freighter towards the gate.

It took them just a moment to realize what was going on, and they began attacking the freighter. We werent able to rep through all of their dps, and it slowly started to go down. Our cruisers just didn't have enough mass to get the freighter back to the gate in time.... so I began self destructing the freighter.

In the end, the the freighter self destructed, leaving them with no loot, no killmail, and no ransom. The insurance payout from the loss was enough to cover the vast majority of the loss. I did however, lose the 80 million that I had put into the contract collateral...

It was exciting, (I wish I could say good fight, but I dont think that really applies here Lol) and thought I'd share the story for others' entertainment

I've rarely seen a man this excited about popping his own freighter.

I've rarely seen Officer Uhura offer much to a thread except juvenille incitement.

Obviously not, if you were easily "put out" by it and approve of flaming. ;)

Edit, to add: I think it would be nice that idiots who simply want to flame try to be a little more involved and informative so as to offer something of real relevance rather than specialist subject "stating the bleeding obvious". Tiresome idiots with "your mom" level of wit are a dime a dozen and I honestly beleive Officer Uhura could do better if she tried.

Bravo for a well executed Reverse Safari. You can sometimes get them to take packages way larger than that. We've had **** with up to 600m in collateral.

Would the person responsible please post here so I can give them a like?

These corps are full of asshats and I think you handled your experience with them about as well as you could so well done! Kudos for reporting this in an informative way as well, although unfortunately most people that get sucked in don't do background checks.

You might have taken a loss here but you sound like you are adaptable enough to handle EVE so well done sir.

I admit I was also slightly amused by the story, sorry :P

Nice little story.

But you deserved it, since you didnt even check their kills on eve-kill/bc.

Alt pilot for 11 days, hardly surpising. Doesn't stop my other identities from observing things.

Pro Tip: pilot history and thread posting history can answer some of your more remedial questioning.

So judging by your 3 posts containing brief comments in 10 days should I also conclude you have nothing to offer? I consider that to be too speculative to decide, but otherwise please qualify your argument as to why I can't make an observation as a result?

X047's alt posting (main account reactivation isn't working for some reason >.<)

Glad you enjoyed the story though, that's why I posted it lol

I didn't figure I was in any real danger, tbh. I thought allowing someone into corp while in space for the sole purpose of getting aggression was a no-no, but apparently I was mistaken. Its all in the fun of the game, and I plan on getting them back at some point or another P

ok... but wouldn't my ship have started to warp off as it does when you log off? In which case I would have died even faster. Or am I misunderstanding a game mechanic?

If they accepted you into the corp after you jumped the last gate, you can petition it.

Sure, it'll warp off, and they wouldn't have been able to stop it. As long as you didn't already have an aggression timer from something, your ship should would have disappeared in 1-2 minutes from log off, and a point won't prevent it from disappearing.
