What ships have you lost to NPC rats?

Lost a Cormorant and a Kestrel and an Ibis to the same spawn of Guristas one after another.

On day 1 in EvE, right after finishing my combat tutorial I was playing around, found the ship scanner and noticed that it listed a Guristas site in the system. In the tutorial the pirates died by just looking at them and hardly did any damage at all to my Kestrel. And I just got a destroyer ... that's a bigger ship class than the Kestrel and considerably stronger ... right? So I fitted the Cormorant - almost spent all my isk on that - and warped to the pirates ... expecting to go through them like a hot knife through butter.
Found myself in a pod a short moment later. Shocked

Ok, I thought, maybe the Cormorant isn't that good... at least I still have my Kestrel which was more than capable to handle everything in the tutorials. Plus I wanted to get the loot from the Cormorant wreck. So I warped to the pirates with my Kestrel ... and lost that ship, too.

So now there were two wrecks with my stuff in it. And I was broke. I knew that I couldn't hope to win a fight against them .. but maybe I could get in, grab my stuff and get out again if I'm fast enough ... so I warped in with my Ibis ... turned out that i wasn't fast enough ... and left a 3rd wreck at that site. P

lost 4 tengus, 3 drakes, one gila two domis, and one absolution so far due to being afk.

for some inexplicable reason i sometimes just stand up and go do something else, take a nap, work, read, fridge, etc. and an hour later i think to myself "wtf was i doing before this? ... oh ****."

Havent lost anything to rats in a long, long time.

I have also somehow managed to avoid losing anything to sleepers, despite spending a few months in WH land.

Think the biggest thing was a Legion, and it was to something stupid like rogue drones. I seem to recall one of the little bastards getting close enough to scram and web me, and my medium pulse lasers couldn't track him after that. Then his thousand friends showed up without me being able to kite them any longer, and it all went downhill from there.

Lost 3 faction fitted Navy Slicers while aggroing numerous frigates (among other rats) to see how strong my active armor tank is. At some point their damage was suddenly intensified and those 3 times my ship melted before I could kill tackling frig and warp away.

I lost my first bought ship to a Caldari NPC rat while doing a mission, it was a Catalyst, I cried myself to sleep that day.

Almost two years ago, I was warping to the Amamake gate in a covops just as the doorbell rang for pizza. I went to get it and came back to the computer just in time to realize that I had hit jump instead of warp, that I had already lost my covops, and that my pod was being targeted by some guy in a Tornado. I didn't have time to do anything before I lost that as well.

Not that this is relevant to the thread.

I lost a caracal to not checking which faction had sov in the final part of the SoE newbie arc.

Went in all awesome to help some newbie....somehow managed to get 7 jumps without noticing the big shouty thing when you jump into a system, warped to mission, started pewing, saw 2 what I thought were rats on the screen, ignored them, suddenly explosions. Newbie thought I got killed by the mission rat, so reducing my awesome rating :(

Lost a raven a few times when I just switched from Drake, because I suddenly had modules to turn on, and I needed cap, which was a new thing for me ^^ Almost lost my CNR a few times for the same reason.

I honestly don't remember. I must have when I first started playing, but my advancing age has made me forget which ones I may have. I know I haven't lost any in the past 4 years to rats.

EDIT: Ah, just remembered one because someone else mentioned in this thread about almost losing a CNR.

I lost a CNR because the "new" NPC warp scramble mechanic they added that time, where they keep you warp scrambled even after you try logging off. I had a really crappy internet at the time, would crash a lot. I was doing The Assault. Got full room aggro then got warp scrambled, didn't get to kill the scrambling rats before my internet crashed. Internet was down for like half an hour. When I got back, my ship was boomed.

Just thought of another. Was doing Smash The Supplier, and accidently warped in my salvaging Thrasher alt before the rats were killed. Boomed very quickly. Blink

Lost a Caldari Navy Hookbill.
Sometimes -10 with gallente can mean trouble when you don't autopilot and forget to tab back into game.
It had 3xCaldari Navy Light missile fitted and 2xCaldari navy ballistics fitted into it 2 days before this accident.
Fortunately, DED's 2/10 in Minmatar space provided enough to loose this kind of money

Yesterday lost a 2.5 bill golem to citadel torps. Cloaked up before last room of maze and forgot to turn my hardners back on. Was tired of all the slow warping anyway :)

I lost my first Merlin in the The Exam tutorial mission, I was actually distraught, but then a good friend gave me a hookbill and we smashed it!

My first Drake loss was because I aggroed the ENTIRE room and got scrammed by many ships. I couldnt pop them all before I died.

Also lost a frigate to a Gas Cloud when I tried to blitz through the mission at a stupid speed, got insta popped. That was unexpected.

Also a funny accident with a Retriever but thats a long story.

lost my astero in a ghost site.

i feel especially dumb because i'd even watched videos of people getting killed in them.

I lost a Rifter trying to do a L2 mission with it.

Then I smarted up and never lost a PvE ship again (in hi sec).

In low sec I lost a PvE fit Rupture because I got probed down and ganked while hitting NPCs.

It's funny because for a year afterwards I have done L4 missions in low sec with battleships and never lost one Shocked

I lost several haulers to 'roid tackle.
I lost a Cynabal to disconnect and scrambling rats.
I lost a Manticore to BS rats and the scrambling frigs.

On a previous char

When the first WH space launched me and about 11 chars got into what we thought at the time was a class 2.

We thought awesome and warped to the first sleeper site.

Problem was is that it was a class 5.

It was pretty much \o/ warp in then 1 second after landing "oh fook" warp out gtfo.

We lost 5 ships including my damnation which I had just got given to me 3 hours earlier for my birthday Lol

Quoting "you will die" in EvE is fail Chars dont die in EvE. Unless you have a heart attack eek.

My first destroyer was lost on the SoE epic arc to the first tackling rat you encounter there. I'm guessing a fairly common fate.

I tried to join some guys running a l4 with a manticore once, it did not live long.

Lost a legion when I jumped at 0 into a Drone Patrol anomaly, the kind that starts out with 6-8 tackling frigates, and my only defense against frigates was range. Pure stupid since I knew this and had cleared a few of those before in the same ship.

Lost my first stratios to the third ghost site I ran with it. But hey, it had an Ascendancy Beta and a Yurt bpc, how could I not try for both? I recovered the Ascendancy Beta bpc from the wreck at least.

I'm still sad about losing my Rattlesnake in the Gallente Epic Arc - for everyone who thought it was impossible to lose a Rattler, it is... Oops
