What would you say the chance are for bpc's?

I've only found 2 sites, one in low-sec and one in null-sec, the low-sec one had 2 implant bpc's and the null sites had 2 (maybe 3) implant bpc's and a structure bpc.

If this is the norm it's not going to take long for the market to get flooded, and the loot worthless.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Except in high sec, the chance of getting some kind of BP seems quite high.

Some sites in high sec are garbage, with only villard wheels and CRTs, and even some empty cans. Low and below, I would say you will probably get at least one print of some kind (depot or implant) from most sites. Best so far for me has been 2 prints from one site.

I do seem to be finding FAR fewer sites today than I was yesterday and tuesday. It's possible that there's more competition now, but the space I've been in has remained relatively empty. Would not be surprised if they quietly toned down the spawn rate.

Yes. Quite 'Exploration' ...

It seems some loot from those is worth the time. I sold Wetu depot for 600m and think I chose too low a price...

As an avid exploration person, I would say its VERY exploration. Just a completely new kind, with its own meta.

Exploration isn't probing. Exploration is traveling to faraway or dangerous places, requires the use specialized and sometimes expensive ships, the rewards can be hit or miss. Often you have long stretches of boredom interrupted by frenetic activity. Hunting for ghost sites is all of these things. If you're not specifically hunting for them, then you can still encounter them, kind of like having that 4/10 or 6/10 or 10/10 spawn in your home system, which is also still "exploration."

You didn't. You got in early and made the maximum isk for being early. These things are/were guaranteed to drop in price, and are now at 150m in Jita. I'm also pretty impressed, I sold one of the first ones for 290m and I think I did rather well, particularly as the manufacturing cost is trivial (unlike those damn implants, which cost me about 300m each in materials alone on day1).

Additionally the covert research tools will provide guaranteed isk even if wetu and some implant prices crash. I'm sitting on about 500 right now so I'm happy about that. Bear

This. I fully expect the meta depot prices to drop to low double digit millions before long. The prints seem fairly common, and they don't provide that much benefit over the meta 0s.

The high meta depots are harder to scan if you choose to not travel with it.

I think it is important that the dev blog specifically points out that this is NOT exploration content. I say this because the current dedicated exploration content is very thin. My worry is if Ghosts sites are adopted as exploration content then the priority given to exploration will drop.

I would really like additional sites tailored to probing. CCP Affinity stated that they were (finished?) working on tools to help create additional content therefore it is my hope that they will be able to easily/rapidly create additional dedicate exploration content.

Right... and given the reinforcement timer, that's just not very valuable.

I would be curious how this compares to low/high sec sites and wormhole space.

jonnypew and delonewolf have you tube vids up on them running these, they worth a look at if you haven't done them, and of course will save you a ship.

Having run a bunch of null sec ones now, I am not concerned about the tanking so much as the timer, the loot drops, and perhaps the abundance of them. I found about half a dozen in the first day, and now haven't see one for awhile, so I am guessing now that there is info out there, there are a lot more people running them.

It sounds like the timer is a lot longer in the highsec ones, perhaps even long enough to hack all the cans by one person.

Ive run two in high sec. In both cases the spawn happened while I was doing the first hack, in less than 2 minutes after arriving at the site. In both cases I just barely got the loot out before all the cans exploded. In the first site the NPCs and the explosion took my frigate. In the second my highly tanked cruiser just barely survived.

Edit: In both cases all the cans had their rings still spinning, so I'm fairly sure I was the first one to them.

Timer starts on warp-in to the site. I don't know about other people, but I have warped into sites, scanned the cans, and left without bothering for lack of blueprints.

i have heard it doesn't start if you stay cloaked, but I'm too busy raking in isk to waste a site by doing nothing.

Sounds like wishful thinking. Just look to decryptor parts from Hacking sites.

So you think the increase in the decryptor supply was some kind of accident or oversight?

That's... lol.

That was on purpose, dude. It's supposed to be that way.

Earlier I heard people talking about ghost sites saying that there are only green cans in Ghost sites, but...

I just found it yesterday at the expenses of my Helios. THERE ARE YELLOW CANS IN GHOST SITES. And if you can't finish it within like 15 clicks, and not in some super tanking ship, warp away. Or you will be popped...

"Looking into" doesn't mean "planning on changing". The aggregate effect of the change is that decryptors went from being something that only had applications in a fraction of invention jobs to something that is a variable in many or most of them (this is a good thing!).

Now if they'd only make Data Interfaces a limited number of uses like R.A.M. there'd actually be a market for the other 75% of the stuff in data sites.
