Way to Scan out someone in Null?

What I am wondering is if CCP has any intentions of giving us players a tool to scan out those cloaking players.

What I would love to see in EVE is a scanning module that:
A) requires high skills to use so its rarer for players to have and making them valuable to the Corp / Alliance
B) That module to take awhile to scan down, not (scan he is there lets kill him)
C) Doesn't give exact location of the target but a area where he might be at so you will still have to fly there and de-cloak him
D)Require a good amount of Cap each time to scan so if its a 1 man job it will take longer, but if a team effort will go by faster.
E) Have scan detection skill to alert those about someone scanning you down, etc.

I am not here to bash down players who cloak up in system to monitor, hot drop etc. However I feel its stupid that in a sandbox game someone can cloak up and I can do nothing to kill him or scare him off. someone can cloak up and sit afk days on end with me having no ability to counter. Its a ultimate win strategy tool with no loss, because intelligence being so easy to gather making the War a much easier win because no your limiting your risk factor.

See this thread, and post with your main next time.

Also, remember that AFK players have no ability to do anything to interfere with your gameplay.

No I not going to search the forums for someone else's post when I want to post about this. The more people post about this the likely hood of CCP making a change will happen. Also Post with my Main next time who are to tell people what to do? So no. Lastly AFK players have no impact huh? Riddle me this, when do you tell there AFK or waiting to gank? Last time I checked most players are afk playing on there other eve account until they see something happen then swoop in and do what they gotta do.

This has been on the 'commonly proposed ideas' list since 2007... but sure, keep whining about it. Maybe CCP will finally change their minds about it. Maybe it will snow in hell, too. In the meantime, try to contain your whining to the appropriate threads.

Also, if the 'AFK' players are keeping watch while playing their other account... then in other words, they are not AFK. Which makes their intel gathering entirely reasonable, and activities taken based on that totally justified.

Finally, HTFU you altposting coward. If you can't take the heat, crawl back to hisec.

Yea look who's whinnying now? Didn't get your way because I refused to listen to you? How about you spend less time on the forums am more time playing the game, like launch eve for starters and then come back to the forums when you have played the game. Also I love your statement at the end considering this alt isn't 8months+ old. No one loves a negative loser who just surfs though forums to shoot players idea down, so GTFO flamer.

Ok i will bite even though you are being a complete ****.

Drop the AFK thing. If the person you are worried about is going to actually drop on you and push your **** in...then he is not AFK, now is he.

So if you have an issue with AFK'rs cloaked up in your isk farming system then it is just in your head, and CCP can not help you, however meds, your mom or a favorite blanky might help.

Your statement about the sand box thing is laughable, telling others that it is your sand box? I have every right to drop a duce on you side of the sandbox if I want to, as can you. So how is that unfair?

Those who complain about the AFK cloaker system never give any weight to why the cloakers bother. The biggest reason is that AFK cloaking is the only tactic that works against a ratter in player sov null who is paying attention and taking precautions. If you safe up the moment anyone not blue comes into local, there is no risk of anyone ever killing you. Thus the only counter to the perfect intel provided by local is the AFK Cloaker.

Now you can argue whether local needs to be changed so that we can also change AFK Cloaking, but there needs to be some way to place a ratter who is "doing it right" at risk. Even with the Ceptor changes, no matter how good a ceptor pilot I am, there is NO way for me to catch a ratter who is doing it right.

Local changes that maintained a risk for ratters sufficient to balance a cloak nerf would probably hurt ratters a lot more then providing a mechanic to remove AFK cloakers would help them. Not to mention having wide ranging consequences on pvp beyond the realm of ratter ganking. That is the reason CCP has been afraid to do anything, and its a very good reason.

Puny internet tough-guy who cloaks 24/7 to hide from PvP calls other player a coward.

Ironic.

Protect me from knowing what I don't need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don't know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen.

can we just post this in all 9000 afk cloaking threads and then lock them.
all normal eve activities require risk and being able to avoid it in null by aligning and warping as soon as a neut enters local is unacceptable without the cloaking tool. anyone who wants that fixed needs to create a way for the miners and ratters to be at risk in some other way first.

The issue is obviously local, not cloaking. In wormhole space, we have no clue who could be there with us. Wormhole space as a whole though still does a ton of PVE and it's never an issue.

OP, if you couldn't tell who was in system with you via local, would it still be an issue for you?

No trolling please
