Long Range (leading to Sniper) skills

So Ive been playing a while now (albeit casually) and Im still quite unsure on what skills I need to train to basically increase my targetting range.

Ive done Sharpshooting and Longrange Targetting to level 5 - but now Im guessing its more on ship modules (i.e Sensor boosters etc.) which I have to admit I know nothing about.

Is anyone willing to share some basic knowledge on fitting ships (and/or skills required) for increasing targetting range - inevitably leading up to a Sniper Apoc or Oracle?

Targeting Range:

Skill:
  • Long Range Targeting

Modules:
  • Sensor Booster (mid, active, can be scripted) [most effective]
  • Signal Amplifier (low, passive)
  • Ionic Field Projector (rig, penalizes shield HP)

Weapon Range (Turrets):

Skills:
  • Sharpshooter (optimal)
  • Trajectory Analysis (falloff)

Modules:
  • Tracking Computer (mid, active, can be scripted) [most effective]
  • Tracking Enhancer (low, passive)
  • Locus Coordinator (rig, optimal, increases PG of turrets)
  • Ambit Extension (rig, falloff, increases PG of turrets)

Weapon Range (Launchers):

Skills:
  • Missile Projection (velocity)
  • Missile Bombardment (flight time)

Modules:
  • Hydraulic Bay Thrusters (rig, velocity, increases CPU of launchers)
  • Rocket Fuel Cache Partition (rig, flight time, increases CPU of launchers)

Drone Control Range:

Skills:
  • Scout Drone Operation
  • Electronic Warfare Drone Operation

Modules:
  • Drone Link Augmentor (high, passive)
  • Drone Control Range Augmentor (rig, penalizes CPU)

Nice list from Zor.

I will add that the BS skill to 5 gives 37.% to optimal and tracking for the Apoc.

Edit here:
Snipe ships generally fit for range and damage only.
No tackle.
Tank is optional, or sacrificed for agility.
Light drones or ecm drones.

Many fleets are using the micro jump drive, and snipe tactics, maybe sentries as well.
I have not done any of that myself, so I can't give experience or advice on it.
