With the recent expansion it is now possible to kill Interbus Customs Offices (CO) in highsec and replace them with player owned Customs Offices (POCOs). This has created a gold rush event of thousands of players scrambling to remove interbus to replace with their own. Player corporations who control the POCOs are able to collect taxes from all players who do Planetary Interactions (PI) on the planets below them. A very significant portion of PI is conducted in highsec - mostly around the trade hubs.

We're tracking the purge of highsec Interbus COs and their rapid replacement by player POCOs for posterity. More updates will come as we gather data. We're prioritizing the regions that we expect to fall first, so updates will come in order of activity.

Highsec Interbus Purge Update Status:

CALDARI SPACE IS PURGED - 1877 highsec interbus killed in 5.75 days. 326 interbus killed per day in Caldari space. 13.6 interbus killed per hour, or one every 4.4 minutes

  • The Forge (643 highsec planets, 159 lowsec planets) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are dead as of 4:03 November 23rd, 2013. 97%+ of all possible planets have already been replaced by player POCOs, mostly by mixed gold rush corps who managed to nab them. Only 4 interbus remain in the entire region, in Paala lowsec.
  • Lonetrek (664 highsec, 177 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 12:33 November 24th, 4 interbus remain in Taisy.
  • Black Rise (79 highsec, 328 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 3:19 November 24th, 2013. 65 interbus remain in lowsec, spread over 14 faction warfare systems.
  • The Citadel (563 highsec, 179 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 6:10 Nov 25th. 9 interbus remain in lowsec.

Who gave Amarr so many bloody systems... we're still working on this empire. We have the Tash-Murkon and Bleak Lands regions left. We've leaving Aridia alone for now since going there would be suicidal. Surprisingly people are still filling in nearly every vacant poco spot in our wake (except possibly in the highsec islands). It doesn't really seem to matter how far away you are from the trade hub, people still rush to fill in pocos.

  • Domain (1336 highsec, 331 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 22:12 Nov 30th. There are no interbus left anywhere in the region.
  • Devoid (301 highsec, 162 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 12:28 Dec 2nd. There are 22 lowsec interbus remaining.
  • Kador (595 highsec, 144 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 3:28 Dec 5th. There are no lowsec interbus remaining.
  • Khanid (338 highsec, 345 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 5:22 Dec 5th. There are Z lowsec interbus remaining.
  • Kor-Azor (283 highsec, 242 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 5:55 Dec 5th. There are 21 lowsec interbus remaining.
  • Genesis (445 highsec, 436 lowsec) - COMPLETE - All highsec interbus are destroyed as of 5:08 Dec 6th. There are 64 lowsec interbus remaining spread over 13 systems.

Customs Office rules:
- It does NOT cause PVP aggression to shoot an Interbus CO. It causes 5 minute PVE aggression. This means players can safely sit and grind these structures to death without fear of reprisal.
- Interbus CO's have a fixed 17% tax rate.
- The skill "Customs Code Expertise" does not reduce the tax rate on Interbus COs, it only reduces the NPC tax rate of player POCOs. This NPC tax rate on highsec player POCOs is fixed at 10%, with level 5 of this skill you can reduce that to 5%. Player corporation taxes are added on top of the NPC tax.
- Exports use the full tax rate, imports always use half the tax rate.

And people say shooting large stationary objects with millions of HP isn't fun gameplay.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

For most players.

Carebears love that kind of crap. If it's boring, they gobble it up.

Where can i recruit these people. They sound perfect.

If you pretend your Oracle is a Retriever, and the Customs Office is an asteroid, it's almost as much fun as mining.

So if you take out an interbus office and don't put another up, are they gone for good? Or does interbus magically construct a new one.

I've been meaning to test this but haven't had the time.

I wonder how much highsec PI dropped after the first few days of astronomical taxes. And if any of that PI got moved into lowsec or other areas.
