Well you sure sound like an old Northern Coalition guy.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

Welcome back to EVE!

Yes, BOB and such. I still have warm memories from the day BOB died, and going to Delve in an interceptor and watching the Goonswarm fleet and BOB leftover fleet chase each others through NPC Delve. Fun times!

SirMolle is still around btw. But as far as i know he lays a low profile. I still see some of his alts flying around at Torrinos yearning for the better days. :)

Now that's going back

I've got some great regional bookmark gate to gate sets to sell you, convo me for details

trolololol

Welcome back to EVE

haha you made my day :D

I remember buying a set for my own region (venal) .. was too lazy to make them myself. Think I got them off KIA...now those guys were good people..

Main thing I want to try at some stage is worm holes! Very interesting but for now ill be mining and running missions. Any one care to take on an old vet that just wants to enjoy his return with friends while making isk?

Do people still get ransomed like the good old days in a gate camp or is it just kill and loot ?

Allow me to invite you to genesis, we ALWAYS honor ransoms....... REALLY

It's ok we already did the failing into a huge pile of drama and start again bit. It was ok for a while but then we just fell into the loving bosom of space communism and Uncle Mittens.

^^^ lol that post is so bad you should get back 2 GBS m8 o7

Every killer needs a maker, every maker needs a killer... Im sure you now know being part of a big alliance you need people making missiles, ships etc to keep things flowing.

But back then.. When I was with Cyberdyne (CDI) , I had it easy, Krullz would give me everything I needed as long as when I logged in I was leading a fleet.

But I got burnt out, leading fleets and so on, camping..takes hours and hours.Trying to ensure a victory for 300-500 people while trying to ensure all have fun is a challenge.

Then, I was younger, more time on my hands. Now I have a wife, and a little son so my time cannot be fully attended to the screen, hence running it safe can allow me to stop playing without the fear of something bad happening ie fleet leaving me behind etc

A lot of people still ransom (we generally don't ransom ships, but do ransom pods) but it's probably not as common as it was back in the day, as it's a lot easier to make ISK now.

Probably the biggest adjustment for you, outside of new ships/game mechanics will be wrapping your head around all the new cyno tactics (dunno what existed when you left) and wormhole stuff -- all in all the game has come a very long way, and a good deal more complex and deep now

that being said they have done a good job of 'dumbing down' a lot of things that were unnecessarily complex.

Is shadow cartel where Tank Ceo went to ? Name rings a bell

I left eve as carriers came in, When the "new" leaders of the north were "demanding" we woke up at 2am to defend poses. It became work rather than fun

No, I've never heard of that guy. Shadow was started by an american dude who was relatively new to the game at the time (people will laugh when they learn we were started as basically a highsec corp and moved to lowsec later)

I left EVE for the same reasons -- nullsec was just an alarm clock grind and i hated the politics. Since returning I've been involved in lowsec only, and it's great. All of the action, none (few) of the timers, and very little in the way of politics.. just lots of small to medium gang pew

Bingo.

There are still a lot of good people trying to actually have a game and are not using monitor 2 to watch their KB with one eye while clicking F1.

Sure things have changed though.

Did you get your mandatory racial, depressed player, and sexual sensitivity course? It's one of the tutorials. You'll get kicked in 48 hours if you don't do that tutorial. You might say the wrong thing and hurt someone's feelings.

You're just as significant as a newbie tackler. Directors and CEOs are the fools who thought it'd be a good idea to herd cats for a quick buck, and you get less thanks. Your friends are dead - it was probably detrimental to your survival that you state
