Mobile Depot Appreciation Thread!

Just as ISIS received its appreciation thread, I felt that capsuleers' new best friend - the mobile depot - deserves one too. This is one of the most brilliant things i have ever witnessed and there endless uses for it. In addition, it is nice and small and can conveniently be carried around with you everywhere for use in any situation. Just some of the myriad of clever uses are listed below:

-Switching between mining/combat drones when mining with 25m3 drone bay
-Changing out mods in missions for cruiser/frig/BS heavy rooms (room 2 of Worlds Collide comes to mind)
-Fitting a barge for full yield, baiting gankers, and refitting for full tank when they show up
-Extra cargo space/refitting service in remote space
-A method by which trade-hub station pvpers can give themselves the suspect flag
-Refitting a marauder or scan-fit t3 (both have tractor bonuses) to salvage instead of taking in another ship for that
-More drones if they get popped in battle (this would be hilarious in PvP situations)

suggestion:
EDIT: apparently you can rename them, i must've missed that
-The named depots have hardly any advantage over the regular ones and are, in my opinion, never worth using except for special situations that i can not think of in which one needs slightly more cargo space for refitting his mods, as if he couldn't do so one at a time.

Post any ideas or any Mobile-Depot love here!

Two suggestions:
-Like a dog in real life, the mobile depot has become an indespendible compannion on one's escapades; A pilot should be allowed to name his depot
-The named depots have hardly any advantage over the regular ones and are, in my opinion, never worth using except for special situations that i can not think of in which one needs slightly more cargo space for refitting his mods, as if he couldn't do so one at a time.

You can rename them

The main point of the named ones is the sensor strength

They have WAY more sensor strength, and the ratio between sensor strength and sig radius determines scanablility, they're harder to find if you leave them in a SS in nullsec

Hmm... It just doesnt seem better enough, seeing how it goes into reinforced for two days anyway and you can scoop it.

You don't get out to nullsec much...do you...

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Needs to be only usable outside of combat. Needs to be jettable so you can jet one to a corpie. They are my only two complaints over the depot.

I normally try to see the positive side of people, but you really are the bitter vet.

Nothing positive to say in an appreciation thread, just complaints.

That would be correct if those depot had variations with big enough ship hangars. I'm guessing those would be too big to shove into the cargo bay of a combat ship but you can still work with that thanks to the presence of hauling oriented ships that have big cargo holds.

I have to say they are one of the best things to come out ingame in the last 10 years, black ops get a lot of use out of these mods. I agree that they should be able to be jettisoned to others in space.

I haven't tried this yet, but shouldn't you be able to put it in a can, and let someone else pull it out ? then they use as they need.... seems like it should work. For speed sake everyone should use their own, though. otherwise it sounds like a single point of failure.

Jettison a piece of ammo, then drop the depot into the can? Or does that not work for some reason?

Someone has to clean the toilets, opulence or no. There will always be peons. There have to be peons, so that there can be opulence.

Normally you could do that, however it gives the Planck error even when packaged. Perhaps a bug.

They're extremely easy to reinforce, and once they are you can't refit off of them. Combat use is just fine.
