Optimal number of Target Painters for Cruise Golem?

Just wondering if there's any point in fitting 3 TPs for a Cruise Golem. Using T2 Fury missiles. Also do any of you Golem pilots switch to Precision missiles for elite frigates, or just throw Fury at anything?

With bastion, you don't really need more then 2 TPs and have rigor rigs in, you can put another on though, as a lrage shield booster, or a medium shield booster with shield boost amp is more then enough tank with one Invul. This is how my Golem is fit, and I pop most in frigate or cruiser in one shot.

Golem - Dory

High -
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Cruise Missile
Cruise Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Cruise Missile
Bastion Mode I
Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain I
Salvager II
Small Tractor Beam II

Medium -
Pith C-Type Large Shield Booster
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
EM Ward Amplifier II
Target Painter II
Target Painter II

Low -
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II

Rig -
Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst II
Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst II

Drones -
x5 Hobgoblin II
x5 Warrior II
x5 Salvage Drone I

Cargo -
x12800 Scourge Fury Cruise Missile
Mobile Tractor Unit

1001 DPS
Able to hit anything within 118km
Will usually pop cruisers and frigates in one shot
Over 8mins of cap time
Mobile tractor unit for those long to reach wrecks
Tank is 900 plus every 3.2secs
Anything not T2 is because it is Meta 4 and does better then it's T2 brother, or because the bastion only has a I one version.
Fit cost way under 1.5bil

2 tp should be enough for fury cruise, use drones on the frigs.

I've been eyeing a torp golem with 3 tp however. 57/88km ranges with bastion.

I been thinking about a Torp fit too, but I might have to be less lazy in my SoE L4s haha.

And with TPs and rigor rigs you won't need anything but furies and drones for frigates.

Depending on your skill level and rigs, the charges (ammo, this is missile specific) have different explosion radii.

Overall you want to keep this as low as possible to attempt to get maximum damage on smaller targets.

The calculation in short is that the smaller the explosion radius is, the more damage the missile will do until it is less than or equal to the target signature radius. The same is for explosion velocity, if the target is moving faster then the explosion velocity, then less damage is dealt.

Looking at it with all level 5 skills, Fury Cruise missiles have an explosion velocity of 109 m/s and 425m radius. the target would if you are shooting a cruiser, or about 150, you would probably want 2 target painters due to stacking penalties which would end up the targets signature being 150% its original size (50% increase), or 225m.

T1 Cruise missiles
EV: 130m/s
ER: 247.5
Precision
EV: 155
ER: 223
Fury
EV: 109
ER: 425.25

So while Fury do much more damage, they are only really useful against Battleships. T1 and precision are much better at cruiser and above. There is also a damage reduction factor which makes precision better against smaller targets, and fury slightly worse then T1.

Could you guys share some torp fits? I have been playing with Cruise Golem fits but it really doesn't look like it will be significantly better than my RNI. At least not so much when considering cost and SP investment for BS lvl5.

Cheers,

4x torp ii
bastion
Tractor
Drone link
random(I use remote rep for drones)

C-A type medium shield booster
Amp
Invuln
MWD/MJD
3x painter

4x BCU

Rocket fuel ii
Bay thrusters ii

From memory since im at work so might be off. 900 DPS with javs out to 88km in bastion, which is near cruise paper DPS(850 or 950?), 1300ish with fury out to 47 or 1200 with faction out to 57. Don't know off the top of my head if 3 tp would be enough to volley a cruiser. Last time I used torps on my golem, they still had the pretty explosions.

If you're using bastion mode theres really no sense in not using short range weapons.

The only catch would be application. Though with guided missile skill working on torps and TP reduced to 5 second cycle, it might be sexy time again(but without the good explosions.)

Bastion mode I can't move, so really there is no reason to not use long range weapons as I fight every pirate faction.

Want my Torp fit, same as my Cruise fit but with torps and velocity rigs, and TP inplace of one invul.

And with 2 TPs and 2 riger T2 rigs it donesn't matter if it's Furies or faction, frigates and cruisers pop in one shot, sometimes too, but that's usually because I'm watching porn too and didn't turn on my TPs haha.

Hmmm but as I have a Rattlesnake and Tengu also for PvE, I could change to Torps and just use them against angels and drones, interesting.....

Its the 88/57/48km range with Javs/faction/rage that has twixed my nethers. 99% rats are not past that in my neck of the woods. It'll be worth 500m for the rig swap to test, I still have a torp clone lying around somewhere from several years ago. Cruise IS sexy with their velocity though.

Assuming PWNAGE and 5% rof and dmg implants, against CNR with 2x Rigor IIs and Flare II.

CNR + 1 TP == Golem w/2x Rigor IIs + 1 TP == Golem (no rigors) + 2 TPs
CNR + 2 TP == Golem w/2x Rigor IIs + 2 TP == Golem (no rigors) + 3 TPs
CNR + 3 TP == Golem w/2x Rigor IIs + 2 TP == Golem (no rigors) + 4 TPs + 5% explosion radius implant

Of course if your TPs are in falloff, you'll want to slap a few extra TPs on the target.

I'll probably go with a t2 rof rig and a velocity rig, and thus 4 painters, cuz what the heck else would I fit?

You lose the ability to one volley Mercenary Commanders. =(
