"no onboard guidance for railguns"?

Hello,

despite 12 million xp and several months of "now and then" playing I'm still quite a newb so my question may seem alike....

Some time ago I fitted a Talos for sniping purpose, using the following:

8x 425mm Compressed Coil Gun I
2x Tracking Enhancer II
2x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
1x Alumel-Wired Sensor Augmentation
1x Tracking Computer II
and some other stuff

Now I wanted to upgrade my weapons to 8x 425mm Railgun II but became aware of some sentence in the weapon's description saying "... but due to technical limitations it cannot use onboard guidance. This results in a fairly rapid drop in accuracy at extreme ranges. "

What exactly does ths mean, or better to say, which modules does this affect? As I am under the impression that all the modules I named before positively affect the accuracy, range and tracking of the fitted guns...

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

The text is just there for lorestuff.

Just look at the actual numbers.

As said, its flavor text. This particular flavor text merely justifies a constant design feature of railguns, that being high optimal and low falloff. Low falloff means that the drop from 100% theoretical damage at optimal range to 50% at optimal+falloff and later 0% at optimal + 2x falloff is rapid. because falloff is short.

T2 guns are just bigger, better, and badder. Only downside is they're slightly more fittings intensive. train em, and USE EM.
