Meh. It only looks like about 5% more (but that's before sig bloom) and a lot of compromises as far as positioning goes.

Ok well Im not sure how thats worked out, and I have no idea what positioning is, I just figure more slots = better

By positioning she means a 425AC shield cane flown properly will run circles around a 220AC armor cane and kill it from 20km with superior firepower while taking a lot less damage.

But that's just comparing directly. Every battle has its own set of circumstances.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

But thats down to gun calibre though surely rather than a deficency in the tank?

Not picking armor lets you fit the larger guns, and lets you use tracking enhnacers, and lets you choose nanofibers for more maneuverability.

It's not so much a deficiency as it is a trade-off. Armor tanked would be harder to kill and have more tackle and ewar options like web(s), ECCM, tracking disruptors or whatever.

If two canes had to warp in at 0 and duke it out, I'd put money on a good armor cane fit. Allowing them to engage from anything over 15km starting distance and I'd lean towards the shield cane.

That sounds fair. And agreeable.

But I bet theres a way to max the guns on a Armour Cane lol

Actually, its not really that hard to either as it turns out

Cool time for a redesign

That's the only (very minor) complaint I have with all the re balancing. I've had to rethink every set up I had saved.

All in all, that's kind of a good problem though. Smile

But I might be showing a gap in my knowledge here, but why would you shield tank a Cane?

Its armour tank is superlative even with two Gyros

I'll admit that I haven't played with it since the BC updates so the meta around its fitting may have changed, but…

…for the same reason as always: because you can. Gyros, TEs and a suitcase in the lows, propulsion, point and shield in the mids, which saves you both speed an a bunch of PG that you could use for more fun things.

Shield Canes were the go-to roaming BC for a long, long time. Even though its use in that role has been pretty well trounced by the Talos (Heelooo, Null kiting), I still think "Shield BC" when I hear "Cane."

More Damage, More Speed, Longer Range, why would you ever plate the pre-nerf Cane? Since the nerf, I'm not sure I've even flown one, so I don't know the new meta.

Same damage, same range, more (sub-light) speed (though this can be fixed too)

Why would you shield in three slots what you can armour in 4? And not have any tackle at all?

FW would be better without them.

solo pvp would be better with out them.

1v1 somone take them dow win the fight. out dps out fly out play them. and they warp off in low armour or hull becasue of this little module.

its bolllox I can see a need for them on things like haulers and cloaky haulers but its nuts to have them on pvp ships

Just because someone plays the game a way you don't like? Maybe those players stabbed their ships because they wanted to. Yes, stabs are annoying when trying to find a fight but its not like every FWer stabs. Just find someone else.

May I suggest dual scrams?

Oh right this is pvp, having dual scrams puts you at a disadvantage, I guess that's part of the rock paper scissors balancing.
