What in the name of all that is holy... They're just standing there hitting each other.

To somebody who takes boxing this seems insane. There should always be some evasive maneuvering going on.
It is entertaining though.

This is what happens when you don't dodge.

Muay Thai fighters block with arms, legs, torso, head....

Seriously though, this is a better version of a semi drunken karate fight more then a Muay Thai fight.

no one told me anything about it. which is why I was asking if that was normal muay thai behavior. because I don't know a thing about the sport. I know about as much about kickboxing as you know about combining replies on the forum.

All he was claiming was that Polish bums could throw round houses and high kicks.

Muay Thai is basically a hodge podge of greco roman wrestling take downs, basic karate kicking techniques, and boxing. Rarely is it pretty, often it is spectacular.

Here is a nice quick fight that shows all the aspects that I mentioned.

Muay Thai fighters are known for their tremendous ability to shin strike which is one of the most painful low legs blows a fighter can sustain. Here is an example of someone that over did their kick training, which the repetitive trauma caused stress fractures that ultimately caused the tibia and fibula to fail. <---warning potentially visually disturbing.
