Any one have any work around for this stupid Fing Winpatch. i haven't been able to play in 2 months, the online and offline installers do not work.

When i first install the game it works once and if i close the game and restart it i get this winpatch error. I have tried installing and running the game on 5 different computers all with different internet providers and i still get the same error. Oops

i even tried tethering off my cell phone and still same error.

The problem is most players have never even heard of this particular error that you are having. I saw your other posts on this that you made after the last patch too. In that regard its hard to give you any advice on the issue.

Otherwise I would.

Have you filed a petition via the web petition system yet?

Out of curiosity, try to bypass the launcher completely just to see what happens.

open EVE folder
open BIN folder
run evefile.exe game program directly

Have you already tried the repair tool?

EDIT:

Check this thread out. (I'm trying to find other threads with mention of win.patch errors)

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3353951#post3353951

Or this
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2538793#post2538793

Or this? If so then GM Retrofire seemed to have a working solution. Sadly not a reply in the thread itself. ;)

Hey listen Im gonna be honest with you.

The problem is YOU

Either:

1- Your connection
2- Your computer hardware (most likely your cpu)
3- Your computer software (most likely some corrupt data, fukd up windows installation or useless antivirus)
4- Your eve installation (highly doubt it)

Once again, the problem is YOU

thumbs up if you like :))))

Don't remember the details, but I had a Windows 7 backup machine with some Bestbuy off brand antivirus software. Had to disable it to play Eve. Only thing that worked.

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

So its my fault the game wont run on 5 different computers.
my friends computer ( i had nothing to do with putting this togeather it came right from dell)
my work laptop
my desktop
my work desktop
and my wife's computer that we just got from dell.

Only one of the above computers i put together my self and before the last 2 patches the game worked 100% of the time. Now does not work at all.

So please dumbass explain how it is my fault that CCP can't fix their game? I downloaded all the files FROM THEIR website. i installed THEIR game from their website. But yet you think its my fault.

I don't know if your just plane stupid or just ignorant. If you cant help me then STFU and don't reply.

Odd. i tried that and ran the repair tool again and when i started EVE off the shortcut it actually fully patched. i logged in and then out.

reset the program and opened again and got the winpatch error.

Yeah the couple posts Ive seen about it all seem to say the same thing. That it worked, then they logged out, then it didn't work.

I'm still trying to see if I can find anything else on it. Am curious.

EDIT: Found a post by one dude saying that when the error box comes up, he clicks start eve instead of clicking OK and it lets him play. Not sure if thats of any use to you, since I can't see the error myself. :/

I've actually heard, but can't confirm that NOD32 also does the same.

Well 4mb isn't bad at all... At least its a good temporary solution until it can be worked out.

Sounds to me like you have some kind of software that corrupts the client for you, possibly a virus or an overzealous anti-virus. Or your HDD is dying.
