Ms Galador, I wish you luck in your new career. The best advice I can give you is to find a group to fly with - share your successes and your defeats and you'll find the way is much less rocky than if you fly solo.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it's the illusion of knowledge. Without knowledge we wouldn't be where we are now. Religion didn't give us what we have, science did. Worshiping a god, is easier than thinking. We shouldn't work for a God, the "common" good, we should work for science, the actual good, because understanding things is better than making **** up. There are more wonders in science and reason, than in dreams of the Amarrian theology. Don't insult me, it's pointless, it doesn't get your point more across then it already has. The fact remains, i'm right, and you are wrong, just like millions of Amarrians.

Democracy doesn't work? It works, it works for all, that's the whole point. A democracy can choose, have more options, more freedom. A democracy can close down things it doesn't want. While a dictatorship remains for the top class to decide what is done and not for the agreement or disagreement of the people. Sure, a scientist might be more "important" than a janitor. but without a janitor those sciencist would have to waste time cleaning **** up. A society can't exist without different types of individuals, if that be a low to high class citizens. They all support each other. And making the low class unhappy will just eventually end up ruining the whole system. Rebellion, riots and boycott.

Silas Vitalia wrote:
Mr. Bachir,

Despite your opinion of faith and the faithful, it is difficult to argue with thousands of years of success.

By far the largest empire with by far the most people follow the Amarr faith, misguided as it may be.

Billions of individuals in the other Empires follow a religion of one form or another.

Non-believers of your persuasion make up the tiniest of minorities in the great swath of humanity. A non-believing drop in an otherwise spiritual ocean.

I know you Federal types are all about minorities being more important, though.

I'll add that religion and technology are not mutually exclusive, although your ignorance in some of these basic realities might prevent you from accepting such a thing.

The Amarrian people have achieved this success through luck, slavery and aggressive expansion. I would be more impressed if that success would have been achieved through peaceful religious expansion. To bad, cause the reality is that the religion got forced into people throats.

I am for freedom and liberty. May each person have the same chance of success. I'm not standing with only the minorities, i stand for all. I even stand for the religious to a degree, even though i look down upon them.

Aye, been there also, at both ends of the experience. Been Bob's hand, and also felt what it's like being under her boot.

I dunno if that's really Bob's anger though Mr Valador. Bob rejoices in sacrifice, be it your tower or ship, or someone else's, it's all pleasing to the eyes of Bob.

I believe the signs of Bob's displeasure, which usually results from insufficient violence, actually come in other forms. Things like highsec islands, anomaly droughts, locusts and this kind of thing.

I seem to be in Bob's book of shame at the moment. Every time I ransom some poor shmuck, they suddenly realise they have warp stabs, Or they stored their valued cargo next to a stack of Antimatter rounds, which just happen to catch fire with the rest of their ship.

I am unsure what i have done to displease Bob, but she surely has it in for my Isk account at the moment..

Mmhmm. It does indeed sound like Bob's work, Mr Egnoled. What do you think you may have done to bring this wrath upon you?

You're not alone though. Personally I believe I'm still in Bob's s**t list. We seriously angered her recently. We moved house to a new system, and what was to be an expensive, time consuming, Bob-fearing bloodbath of an eviction ended up becoming a peaceful take over. We saved money, and a lot of people saved their lives. However we did not save Bob's favor ...

Ever since we've been trying to get back into Bob's good graces. We began by killing a Raven. Then sacrificed one of our own Proteus, along with several other small time murders on the altar of Bob. Seems this has barely scratched the surface of Bob's righteous wrath though, as the poor highsec connections, lack of combat targets, massive amounts of time-consuming sigs to scan, errant class 4 connections and other logistical and morale crushing nightmares has continued on a daily basis.

Each night in my tower before I climb alone under the red, silk sheets of my expansive double bed, I ask Bob to allow distractions planet-side to subside so that I may have more time to take up my Tengu in her righteous name and go forth seeking more glorious sacrifices. Bob is truly Biblical you see, to really pray to Bob one must prey for Bob.

How in the world did my declaration to join the crusade turn into a discussion about a supposed deity of wormhole space TT_TT?

Believe me Mr Bachir, the thought had indeed occurred to me in light of recent events.

But there is only one thing that can appease Bob, and it's not attitude.

My apologies Mrs Valador. It was not my intent for this holothread to become about wormholes. Perhaps though it's Bob herself who is guiding me in doing so, maybe a little sermon will earn me a point or two?

Honestly though my motivation comes from genuine concern. Be careful who you choose to worship Mrs Valador, for in deep space your false deities cannot hear your screams.

Hmm... *Paces back and forth*

Thinking back to it, we started some wars recently with the purpose of sacrificing ships in Bob's name.. All went well initially, we sacrificed a Rattlesnake and capsule, Noctis and capsule, an Orca and Hulk. When the next war was ready to start, the capsuleer disbanded the corporation, in turn nullifying the war.

I am wondering If the fact that we didn't get the chance to sacrifice that navy raven in her name, may have displeased her? I am still working on the finer details of killing it, so its not as if i don't plan to follow through..

My nightly ritual as i shut down the non essentials on my Cynabal, is to think of her unending fury that allows me to dispatch the unworthy. I make my way to the captains quarters, locking the door behind me and make my way over to my drinks cabinet, and grab the highest alcohol concentration i can find in the hope that tonight i might not have the nightmares.

My life is the metal, my experiences the Hammer. I am a sword forged for the one God to use to smite his enemy's and protect his people. I know in my heart the God I worship is real. As I am sure you believe yours is. Let us leave it at that. Discussion of religion in a setting such as this normally never yields results for either side. Lets just be friends with a mutual respect for each other instead. I will find a way to convert you later ^_^

I didn't mean it to be disrespectful, but I can see how it'd come across like that.

Someone once said they'll believe something if they see it with their own eyes. I don't pretend to know what Bob is, other than it is a force that manifests with a woman's demeanor more often than not. Her effects are real, present and otherwise unexplainable. I've not witnessed any other "God", be it mythical or mainstream, demonstrate it's presence so obviously and physically.

I respect you ma'am, never fear. Had I not then I'd not bothered to highlight my concerns to you in your holothread.

And if it's any consolation you seem to have a wonderful disposition and admirable tolerance, beside being easy on the eye.

May whatever God you believe in keep it so!

Where is your proof for this God. Exactly, zero, none, it doesn't exist, the only proof you have is that you "believe" in your heart. "Believing" is not enough proof, it's just a sign of blindness. This is why I can't accept or support religion. Now you may have the freedom to follow it, but I recommend you let go and do as you please, and not what your God pleases.

Thing is though Dangirdas, if I had the choice between a life of zealotry or, hmmmmm, lets say, a miss adventure to Rens that resulted in a genital disease, Which do you think I would choose? This is in no way a stab at your personal life
