Now I do not want WoW pvp scenarios, where players have nothing to loose.
But would you do pvp (or more pvp) if the insurance was "better"...?

If my pilot is certain to face death... I want full ramming speed towards the enemy ship...

People don't PVP because it isn't harsh enough, 25% more harsh = 25% more PVP

If you want lots of PVP you need to add lots of Harsh.

Coming from someone whos Catalysts don't get insurance payouts for some reason, I can tell you that insurance payouts have very little sway on the amount of 'PvP' im involved in.

I also haven't insured a ship in years, don't fly what you cannot afford to lose.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

There was a time when insurance was "better."

It was so good in fact that people actually built and self destructed their own ships for PROFIT!

Todays Tech 1 insurance values are just barely under what it would take to be profitable like before.

And Tech 2, Faction, Tech 3, and Pirate insurance values were never meant to be profitable (as an added "penalty" for using a ship that has extra "edges").

Personally I dont insure my ships. Because the modules cost more than the hull...

If my pilot is certain to face death... I want full ramming speed towards the enemy ship...

i still find it entertaining that platinum insurance pays out more on a super capital then it does on a titan, when a titan is alot more isk thne a supercapital Shocked

I dont understand

What's wrong with the way it works now?

If it was "better", then insurance would be over the value of the item and that durn don' make no sense ya'll

Insurance for Towers though, giz some of that.

Nope. I would still spend as much time as I can in PvP, just as I do now.

How do you make that statement add up?
Take for example a Mining Barge - Retriever:
Ship costs 25mill on market. Maximum payout is 6.187.709.00 isk
And adding modules does not affect the platinum cost or payout...

Am I missing some info here?

I find that when I'm deciding what to fly, I ignore the insurance payout when considering the cost of the ship. So it wouldn't affect me.
